Our PUBG Event Pass guide contains everything we know so far about the the game’s upcoming Event Pass progression system, including information on its cost, release date, missions and the type of rewards you’ll be able to earn.

It’s no secret that Fortnite’s Battle Pass has done alright for Epic Games and it wasn’t long before the likes of Realm Royale and PUBG Mobile followed suit. Now PUBG has joined the fray with their own take, the “Event Pass”.

For those of you unfamiliar with Battle Pass systems, they’re essentially a way for developers to reward their players regularly in exchange for one simple payment that usually isn’t that pricey. Once you’ve bought a “Pass”, you’ll usually unlock a levelling system filled with incentives to unlock loot as you play the game and rank up.

PUBG’s Event Pass aims to provide the same rewarding experience to its player base without limiting new content to DLC drops, premium packs or forcing you to delve into the marketplace and fork out some serious cash.

Below we’ve put together everything you need to know about PUBG's Event Pass, including all the important details on costs, rewards and missions.

When you’re done here, make sure you head on over to our core PUBG guide if you want to learn more about every aspect of the game!

Editor's UPDATE:In the section just below we've outlined a developer update which has gone live over on PUBG's Test Server. It makes a few tweaks to XP rates for Event Pass holders which should speed up the reward process!

DEV UPDATE: 27th June 2018

Turns out the community's not reacted well to the current state of PUBG's Event Pass. To cut through all the noise, players feel that it takes too long to earn rewards considering that the Event Pass only lasts for four weeks in total. From what we've earned and played, we'd have to agree as well.

Well, PUBG Corp has taken this outpouring of feedback on board and put together a few tweaks to the progression system over on the Test Server. Players will earn more XP and this should translate to more rewards in a shorter space of time. Here's a breakdown of all the adjustments:

For all the changes, head on over to the official announcement on Steam.

  • Event Pass system's progression mechanisms have been adjusted.
  • Daily XP Limit 80 → 120.
  • Minimum play time required to count towards mission progress: 5 minutes → 2 minutes.
  • Minimum play time required to acquire XP: 5 minutes → 2.5 minutes.
  • For Duo or Squad games, mission progress is updated when your team wins the game, or when your whole team is eliminated.
  • 'Reach top 3 without killing anyone in Solos' mission requirements have been changed. The mission now requires reaching top 3 with 2 kills or less.

Event Pass: A Quick Overview

An official blog post by the developers has given us some information on what we can expect from PUBG’s Event Pass, including a confirmed release date as well as the style of progression it’ll introduce to the game.

  • The Event Pass went live on June 22nd 2018, the same day Sanhok hit the servers.
  • The Event Pass will last for four weeks in total and it's be themed around Sanhok. There's even an item set that fits the map Sanhok thematically!
  • The Event Pass costs £7.99 or £9.99 if you're in the US. You can also buy 5 levels at a time for £3.99 or $4.99 a pop (this feature isn't currently enabled yet, we'll update this part when it's live)
  • You’ll be able to unlock new content in PUBG that’s different from the current crate and key system.
  • Players will be rewarded in the Event Pass system regardless of whether a purchase has been made. Haven’t bought the Pass? You’ll still be able to temporarily unlock most of the items and earn a “special” one permanently.
  • If you pay real world currency to unlock the full Event Pass you’ll be able to level up your Pass by completing Missions and accruing survival time in-game.
  • Missions are still available for those who haven’t purchased the Pass, but you’ll be limited as to how many rewards you can earn.
  • All your progress is tracked, so you can buy the Event Pass late in the event and still get all the rewards you’ve earned retroactively.
  • There are dozens of missions, including daily missions, weekly missions and Sanhok-specific missions. Complete these missions, level up and unlock rewards.
  • Finally, by playing and completing missions while they’re available you’ll be able to unlock one free chance to change your in-game PUBG name.

What happens if I purchase the event pass midway through the event?

Does the Event Pass only work with Sanhok?

No. Event pass missions encompass all maps, except for a few labelled "Sanhok Missions" which are exclusive to this map.
