Our PUBG Best to Worst Weapons page lists all weapons in the game, with comprehensive stats and a tier list for each category.

There’s a whole host of weaponry up for grabs in PUBG, and if you’re unfamiliar with the game it can be difficult knowing which you should be equipping or leaving by the wayside. These sorts of decisions can make or break a match too, as less time spent fumbling around choosing what weapon to use is more time spent pressing the advantage.

Even if you’ve been playing this game for hundreds - or even thousands - of hours, it can be tricky to know which weapons are clearly the best or the worst. Of course, they all have situational advantages and disadvantages, but when it comes to statistics there are some clear winners.

Some weapons are out and out better than their counterparts, and to help you identify which weapons are the strongest in each category, we’ve put together an easy to understand tier list just below.

It’s worth bearing in mind that this weapon tier list takes into account each weapon’s base statistics, without any attachments taken into consideration. Certain weapons benefit heavily from modifications, but not enough that this should alter the state of this tier list too drastically.

Make sure you visit our core PUBG Guide hub when you're done here. It contains all of the most important tips and tactics you need to win more games!

Weapon Tier List

In this section you’ll find a breakdown of every PUBG weapon, with the most important stats for each one noted. Here are a few thoughts on how we've gone about compiling this list, and what the numbers mean.

  • Note that we’ve ranked the best weapons within each category. Some of the placements are down to statistics, while some of them are much stronger in-game when compared to their stats on paper.
  • We’ve based our stats on pubg.gamepedia and this community made spreadsheet from redditor dak4ttack, and another one linked by redditor RainyRayne. Every website has different statistics as of PUBG’s 1.0 patch, since Bluehole doesn’t actually release them officially. Essentially, it’s all down to datamines and community testing, but the data below is as close as we can get to an accurate representation.
  • Bullet Speed refers to the speed at which the bullet leaves the muzzle, measured in meters per second. A higher number means less lead time or aim compensation for bullet drop.
  • Bullet Power indicates how hard a player's aim will be thrown off when hit. The higher the number, the bigger the flinch.
  • Anything marked with an asterisk is only available as a unique drop from a Supply Crate!
  • Finally, all stats are subject to change as the game is updated. We’ll do our best to update this page when that happens but do bear with us on this front!

PUBG: Assault Rifles Tier List

AUG A3*430.08650230940m/s9,000

When it comes to the best Assault Rifles, it's a pretty close contest. The Groza tears apart targets but it's rare to find. The M416 is easily the best all-rounder, while the M16A4 is also a great choice for tapping down targets at range with its high bullet velocity. It's hard to go wrong with this category to be honest, but those are our picks for what they're worth!

PUBG: Sniper Rifle Tier List

NameDamageFire RateDPSMagBullet SpeedBullet Power
Mini 14460.13346020990m/s10,000

Easily our favourite Sniper Rifle, the AWM is capable of dropping enemies in one booming shot. The Kar98K remains the most powerful common drop, while the SKS edges out the Mini 14 and VSS when it comes to semi-auto Snipers.

PUBG: Submachine Gun Tier List

Tommy Gun400.08646730280m/s7,000
Micro Uzi260.04854225350m/s5,000

We're huge fans of each of these weapons, but the reliable UMP9 is the best go-to. It's easy to handle and deals decent damage. The Vector's incredible for shredding enemies, but needs an Extended Magazine to be truly viable. Something to keep in mind.

PUBG: Shotgun Tier List

The S12K and S686 take the top spots here. The former has the benefit of automatic fire, while the latter delivers devastating damage with a limited magazine.

Fully kit out a P18C and it's effectively a mini-SMG - definitely pick one up if you come across it. The P1911 is also a great option, capable of downing enemies in only a few shots and remaining easy to handle when squeezing the trigger in a flurry of shots.

The M249 wins hands-down thanks to its incredibly high fire rate and extremely large magazine.

Always grab a Pan. Not only does it act as an extra piece of armour for your backside, it's surprisingly strong at close range.
