The four semifinalists for the Overwatch World Cup 2018 semifinals have been confirmed, following the first day of competitive play at BlizzCon.
The United Kingdom, South Korea, China and Canada have all made it through to the next stage, thanks to a dominating display against their opposite numbers during the quarterfinal stage.
Team UK managed to overcome USA in a 3-1 encounter (well done lads), while South Korea v Australia, China v Finland and Canada v France all concluded with a resounding 3-0 thumping.
That last result between Canada and France is particularly interesting, as both teams were considered to be among the strongest in the competition.
Play resumes a little later on with the remaining four teams fighting for a spot in tonight's final showdown. Here's the schedule, with all times provided in GMT. Subtract seven hours for PT, six for ET, and add an hour for mainland Europe:
- Semifinal 1 - South Korea v United Kingdom - 4:30pm
- Semifinal 2 - China v Canada - 6:30pm
- Bronze Match - 8:30pm
- Final Match - 10:45pm
We'll be watching and cheering on Team UK, but can they possible overcome the rampant South Koreans? We'll have our fingers crossed.
