The Overwatch League's London Spitfire and Houston Outlaws teams will join forces to host a pair of showmatches scheduled to take place in October 2018 and January 2019.

Titled the Gilded Gala, the event will see the Outlaws travel to London on October 20th 2018 to face off against their UK equivalents. Spitfire will then fly over to Texas in January for the second leg of the event.

Between three and four of the flagship players from each team will make the journey, and attending fans will even have the opportunity to play against the pros. Matches will include 1 v 1s, Mystery Heroes and more.

"We’re really excited to have put something special together for the fans, and it’s been great teaming up with the Outlaws to do it," said Jack Etienne, CEO and Owner of the London Spitfire.

"The amount of support we’ve gotten from our hometown fans continues to be phenomenal and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have the team in London. The Overwatch Gilded Gala is going to be an event to remember for both the cities of London and Houston."

"The Houston Outlaws are super excited to be able to visit the beautiful city of London,” said Matt "Flame" Rodriguez. “As a team with a major focus on fan connection we are beyond pleased to be able to join our friends at the Spitfire to bring positive fan engagements to a passionate esports community and we are really excited to welcome the London team to our home for BBQ and Tacos at a later date."

Attendance details for the Gilded Gala have yet to be confirmed by either team. We'll make a post on the homepage when we know more about the venue and ticketing arrangements.
