Our Overwatch World Cup 2017 guide contains details of all the teams, streams, results and video on demand for this year's global showdown.

The final stages of this year’s Overwatch World Cup will be kicking off at the end of this week, and with the group stages a long way behind us now, we know the top eight nations who’ll be fighting for the crown.

In this second edition of our guide, you’ll find a breakdown of how the top 8 teams will face off against one another at BlizzCon this weekend, as well as a schedule of when exactly these final matches will take place. We’ve also got a stream embed for your right here as well.

Once the competition is under way, we'll be updating all of the tables with the latest results, hidden behind spoiler tags in case you want to catch up on the action for yourself later on. On that note, we'll also be adding links to all of the post-match video on demand that becomes available.

Our World Cup guide will undergo a number of changes as the weekend's action plays out, so do let us know if there's anything extra you'd like to see from it and we'll do our best to accommodate!

Overwatch’s World Cup action continues at Blizzcon 2017 and it’ll feature the top 8 teams battling it out to see who emerges as the very best.

Here’s a breakdown of when the action kicks off in your region.

  • 32 countries will field teams.
  • Fans will vote to determine the which six competitors will represent their country.
  • The 32 teams are then seeded via "snake draft" (see the video below) into eight groups of four teams. This should ensure that the strongest seeds don’t knock each other out too early on.
  • The four teams in each group will then battle each other in a round robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the next stage.
  • The remaining 16 teams will be ranked based on their overall scores from the first stage, making up 8 groups of two teams.
  • These remaining teams will play each other in a single elimination format, with the top 8 teams advancing to the final stage.
  • The final stage takes place at BlizzCon 2017, where the first team to win three matches is declared the winner.

Groups A and B played their matches in China at the following times:

  • Friday 14th July: 6am GMT - 12pm GMT

Groups C and D played their matches in Australia at the following times:

  • Friday 21st July: 12am GMT - 6am GMT
