Fortress Esports, the newest member of Allied Esports’ network has announced that their very first venue will open in Melbourne, Australia this year. Fortress Esports announced that they will open the doors to their enormous venue spread across two floors in the Central Business District of Melbourne.
The venue will cover over 2700 square metres and play host to a 200-seat Esports arena with 120 LAN stations. Seating will be retractable, and a bar will be available to refresh attendees when needed. Full details can be found on the Fortress Melbourne Website.
It’s an exciting time for Australian Esports fans after the various setbacks they’ve had to deal with, considering Gfinity’s withdrawal from the continent after losing $5.3 million as of June 2019.
The venue will open in early 2020, and even feature an area for RPG and tabletop games, as well as ‘casual’ gaming areas that’ll hopefully bring in audiences from all over the Australian gaming scene. The location of the venue will be Emporium Melbourne, a popular shopping mall in the CBD that’ll benefit from the footfall brought about by the new facility.
