Valve, publishers of such minor game series as Half Life, Team Fortress, Portal and Dota, has announced a new digital card game themed around the latter called Artifact. The news was confirmed during The International 7 yesterday evening.

Artifact will be released in 2018 and sees you controlling five heroes across three lines (just like in DOTA), and you'll also be able to make use of Dota characters such as the Bounty Hunter. Apart from that, information is a little thin on the ground right now, although you can check out our growing Artifact guide for all of the nitty gritty details.

A trailer was released to mark the announcement as well, although in customary 2017 fashion it tells you pretty much nothing about the game. Nevertheless, you can watch it right here:

We'll be bringing you all of the latest developments on Artifact as and when they happen, but you can also follow the game's official Twitter account which went live last night - it's a little quiet right now, but they're answering questions here and there.
