About Ed Thorn

Ed joined Metabomb in May 2017 and puts together guides and news across the site.

Our Radical Heights System Requirements page outlines both the minimum and recommended specs, so you know for certain if your system can run the game.

On this page we’re keeping things as straightforward as possible. We’ve listed both the minimum and recommended system requirements for Boss Key’s Radical Heights as well as a how-to on where to find your own PC’s specs.

Despite Radical Height’s slightly cartoonish art style, it’s certainly more power hungry than you might think. This is mainly down to the game being in what it calls “X-Treme” early access, so there remains a lot of optimisation work to be done. Budget PCs will have to tone down a lot of settings, while high end rigs shouldn’t have too much trouble.

As Radical Heights undergoes a few patches, we’re sure its system requirements will become less demanding and change entirely. For now, we’ve listed the current specs which your rig will need to run the game at both low and optimal settings.

We’ll be updating this guide as Radical Heights continues to grow, so keep this page bookmarked for any further changes to system requirements!

Check out our Radical Heights guide for a complete overview of the game!

Radical Heights - System Requirements PC

Below we’ve listed the official minimum and recommended specs, along with a few thoughts on how well they’ll actually run Radical Heights.

Minimum

  • OS*: Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K/ AMD FX-6300
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 660 2GB, AMD Radeon 7870 2GB
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 6GB available space

Recommended

  • OS*: Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-6600K/ AMD Ryzen 5 1600
  • Memory: 16GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB, AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 6GB available space

*Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system.

Running Radical Heights on minimum specs won’t make for the smoothest, prettiest Battle Royale experience, but it’ll work. If you’re trying to run the game on anything lower spec like integrated graphics it’s going to be a real struggle.

To meet Radical Heights High quality settings you’re going to need a surprisingly powerful rig. You’ve got 16GB of RAM and some mid-range GPU and CPUs listed here which aren’t particularly budget friendly. What’s shocking is the RAM requirement though. Many players (ourselves included) are rocking 8GB and happily playing the vast majority of recent titles, most of which are - frankly - far better looking. A step up to 16GB seems a bit steep, but then again, you could see it as a bit of future proofing if you decide to make the purchase.

Radical Heights is certain to undergo some extensive optimisation over the next few weeks, so we expect many of these specs to be lowered somewhat. We’ll keep an eye out and update this page if that happens!

How do I find out my system specs?

PC

Here’s a step by step guide to finding out exactly what’s running under your system’s hood.

  • Go to your Windows search bar and type in ‘dxdiag’.
  • This will bring up a screen which shows all the good stuff.
  • Things to take note of: Operating System (32 or 64-bit), Processor (CPU) and Memory (RAM).
  • To find out what graphics card you’ve got, click the tab entitled ‘Display 1’ at the top left.
  • If you’ve got a dedicated GPU installed it’ll list the manufacturer (AMD or Nvidia), followed by the chip number (GeForce GTX or AMD RX).
  • You can check your display memory and VRAM here too.
  • That’s all the information you’ll need!

When you're done here, it's worth checking out our Best settings guide to help you achieve buttery smooth performance!
