Our Apex Legends system requirements page contains the minimum and recommended hardware you'll need to run the game at 60 FPS.

Apex Legends' popularity shows no signs of slowing down, and it's absolutely dominating the Twitch charts right now - even taking Fortnite's continued success into account.

If you're thinking about getting stuck into the game yourself, you're no doubt keen to find out whether or not your PC can run it at a decent performance level. Xbox and PlayStation 4 owners don't have to worry about this sort of thing, of course.

The good news is that even a modest PC can run the game pretty well, although you'll want a little more oomph under the hood if you want it to really shine.

In this article, we've highlighted the minimum and recommended official specs for Apex Legends, so you can get a feel for how well the game's going to run on your own rig.

Apex Legends: Minimum System Requirements

Although Apex Legends is not exactly stunning on old computers, it still plays well enough to enjoy. Here's what you'll need to have as a bare minimum to get the game up and running.

>
  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-6300 3.8GHz / AMD FX-4350 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Processor
  • RAM: 6GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 / Radeon HD 7700
  • GPU RAM: 1 GB
  • HARD DRIVE: Minimum 30 GB of free space

In terms of optimisation, if you're rig is pretty close to the above, you'll want to stick with low to medium settings. If you try to push any higher than this, you're likely to suffer some serious FPS issues, and that will prove a bottleneck to success.

A final point on those of you who are playing this on a laptop which lacks a dedicated graphics cards. You're really going to struggle to enjoy the game in this fashion, and so we recommend either upgrading your hardware, or investing in a budget desktop rig.

Apex Legends: Recommended System Requirements

Now, if you really want to see what the game's capable of, you should be running the recommended system setup. Exceeding these baselines will give you a really nice looking game, but this is what you should ideally have if you want a super-smooth 60 FPS.

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel i5 3570K or equivalent
  • RAM: 8GB
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 / AMD Radeon R9 290
  • GPU RAM: 8GB
  • HARD DRIVE: Minimum 30 GB of free space

How do I find out my system specs?

Below we've outlined how to find identify what's under the hood:

  • Go to your Windows search bar and type in "dxdiag"
  • This will bring up a screen which shows all the good stuff.
  • There are some things you'll want to take note of: Your Operating System (32 or 64-bit), Processor (CPU) and Memory (RAM).
  • To find out what graphics card you've got, click the tab entitled "Display 1" at the top left.
  • If you've got a dedicated GPU installed it will list the manufacturer (AMD or NVIDIA), followed by the chip number (GeForce GTX or AMD RX).
  • You can check your display memory and VRAM here too.
  • That should be all the information you need!
