Our Apex Legends Legendary Hunt guide covers the Elite Queue, Legendary Hunt Challenges, Double XP weekend and Legendary Hunt skins.
In a blog update that also addressed plans for Season 2 of Apex Legends, the developers have also lifted the lid on a new event coming to the game next week.
Called The Legendary Hunt, the event will only last for a brief period of time (around two weeks), but will shake things up a little bit. It all kicks off on Tuesday 4th June 2019.
In this brief primer guide to the event, we've outlined everything you need to know about what's coming to the game.
If any of the challenges prove particularly tricky, we'll add in some tips to help you beat each one.
For now though, here's what you need to know:
The team are introducing something called an Apex Elite Queue for the duration of the Legendary Hunt.
If you manage to reach the Top 5 in any given match, you'll be able to queue up for another match alongside other players who have reached the Top 5.
This elite queue isn't permanent though. The moment you drop out of the Top 5, you'll also drop out of this special queueing system.
Legendary Hunt Challenges
There's very little detail on this side of the event right now, but you'll be able to complete a series of challenges that are unique to the event.
The devs have promised there'll be Rare, Epic and Legendary skins to unlock by beating these challenges.
As soon as we have more detail on what's involved, we'll update this section of our guide.
Double XP Weekend
If you've found yourself making rather sluggish progress through your Battle Pass, you can earn double XP by playing across one single weekend.
That bonus period starts on Friday 7th June at 10:00am PST, and ends on Monday 10th June at 10:00am.
Battle Pass Bonus XP
As well as qualifying for the Elite Queue, finishing in the Top 5 in any given match will boost your Battle Pass level by one.
Note that you can only earn this bonus boost once per day and while the event is ongoing.
Legendary Hunt Skins
There'll be new Legendary skins - themed around the Legendary Hunt - added to the game store throughout the week.
They'll rotate in and out of there, so if there's one you particularly want then grab it while you can.
Bonus Battle Pass Skins
If you own the Wild Frontier Battle Pass then you'll be granted the Legendary Honored Prey R-301 skin automatically when the event begins.
If you manage to make your way to at least Level 15 of your Battle Pass before the event ends you'll also get the Wraith Night Terror Legendary skin.
That's the end of the first edition of our Legendary Hunt guide! Once those challenges are live we'll add in detail and give you the tips you need to tick them off the list nice and quickly.
