Riot’s Principal Concept Artist for Legends of Runeterra will be drawing a new character concept with an interactive art masterclass, titled Draw with Riot.

Legends of Runeterra’s art has been a major draw since the very beginning. The fact that you can click on cards to expand the card art into a larger image is enticing in the same way old Mad Magazine fold-ins were - giving you a piece of the whole before unfolding and showing a completely different visual story. We’re always happy to see the excellent art in Legends of Runeterra, both because of its striking character and because it makes it extremely easy for us to find usable images for guides.

Principal Concept Artist Chris Campbell to host interactive art masterclass, designing a brand new character concept

At 6pm BST on Friday 29th May 2020, Chris Campbell will host the first ever ‘Draw with Riot’ live stream. In this two-hour slot, he’ll offer fans a look at the creative process that goes behind Riot’s character design process, and show how the world of Runeterra and its inhabitants are brought to life.

Fans will even be able to contribute, with the community invited to share their own versions of the new unit on Twitter using the hashtag #drawwithriot and @playruneterra. 11 winners will be chosen to get a bunch of fancy new stuff within Legends of Runeterra, including Champions, Expedition Tokens, and being featured on Legends of Runeterra’s Twitter. The one winner of this competition will win a special bonus - the chance to talk art, cards, and life with Chris Campbell one-on-one, absoluely worth doing for you artists out there.

Results will be announced on June 10th 2020 at @playruneterra on Twitter.

You can check out more of Chris Campbell’s art on his Instagram page, as well as on existing cards within the recent Rising Tides set. His handiwork can be seen on Thorny Toad, Terror of the Tides, and many more, and he’s also behind the design of many League of Legends champions like Bard, Kindred, and Pyke.

To get ready for the art stream, why not take a look at some of our Legends of Runeterra deck guides? We’ve got all kinds of sweet decks to help you climb the ladder, including our Kinkou Elusives deck for you sneaky aggro types, as well as Ezreal Karma for combo fans.
