Legends of Runeterra and it’s mobile counterpart are launching at the end of April. In this guide we’ll provide a quick FAQ breakdown of everything you need to know about them.
So it’s official, Legends of Runeterra and Legends of Runeterra: Mobile are launching at the very end of April! There will be a host of new features, plenty of new cards, and a tonne of reworks which’ll make Riot’s CCG all the more tantalising to play.
If you were an avid beta player, or someone who has tuned in to dozens of streams, you’ve probably got a bunch of questions about the game’s official launch. Below we’ve put together a snappy FAQ style section which will hopefully answer them all.
Legends of Runeterra Launch FAQ
Right, here’s all the key info:
When does Legends of Runeterra for PC and mobile launch?
Legends of Runeterra will officially launch for PC and mobile on April 30th, 2020. It’s totally cross-platform, so you can play against friends on different platforms, and even transition between both platforms on the same account to continue earning rewards on the move.
What does cross-platform mean?
Cross platform play means you can earn rewards on both mobile or PC from the same account!
To enable this feature, you’ll need to create a Riot account - this is the only way you can share account progress between PC and mobile. If you don’t have one, you can create one when you first log in, or through the “Settings” menu if you log into your mobile using your Google Play or App Store account.
Will there be any new cards?
Absolutely, in fact, an absolute tonne of them. Legends of Runeterra is set to launch with 120+ new cards, including a new region. Card and champion reveals will begin soon and continue through launch.
If you want to get hands on with the new set before launch day, it’ll be playable on April 28th on PC at approximately 10:00am (PT).
Will my progress from the closed and open betas carry over?
Yes, no content will be wiped. You’ll keep everything you’ve earned or purchased so far.
What’s more, those who have played in the beta and everyone who joins at launch by 11:59pm (PT) on May 7th, 2020 will receive a Moonstruck Poro Guardian. It’ll be in your collection within 24 hours.
What will the ranked reset look like?
With the launch of Legends of Runeterra, the beta ranked season will come to a close. If you were a part of the ranked ladder during this season, you’ll earn an exclusive beta season icon based on the highest tier you reached - nice.
There will then be partial reset ranks, and we’ve listed them below:
- Master accounts will drop 800LP (8 divisions)
- Diamond and Platinum accounts will drop 750LP (7 divisions + 50LP)
- Gold and Silver accounts will drop 675LP (6 divisions + 75LP)
- Bronze and Iron accounts will reset to Iron IV
You’ll then have roughly 2 months to climb as high as you can before the first ranked season comes to a close. More info on the new season will launch alongside the game.
What’s next for the game now the beta season is over?
Riot’s ready to ramp up content, add more features, and maintain a regular update schedule every two weeks, not to mention balance changes once per month. A roadmap for 2020 is on the way soon.
