You’ll be able to really get on your enemy’s nerves playing this deck. It’s all about grinding your enemy to an agonising defeat by stunning their units and not letting them get an attack in edgeways.
You’ll have to play smart with this one - you’re combining Elusive units with Stun mechanics to make things as hard as possible for your opponents to deal with your board presence whilst stifling any attempts to take you down.
We’ve had some solid success climbing the ladder with Yasuo Elusive. It’s all about getting your Yasuo upgraded, and a couple Fae Bladetwirlers on board, beefing them up with Stun, and sneaking in that extra damage with Elusive.

This isn’t necessarily an aggressive or control-focused deck. It’ll all depend on the matchup and how you draw. Sometimes, you’ll want to go all in on a Greenglade Duo and whatever other Elusives you get, in your hand, whereas other times you’ll just try to grind the enemy out with Yasuo’s constant damage.
Early game: Inspiring Mentor is a great first turn to have, as you’ll be able to buff your units whilst lobbing on a 1 mana 1/1. Buffing a Navori Conspirator is a way to apply early pressure too, as you’ll have a 4/3 Elusive unit who also lets you Recall your Inspiring Mentor to buff yet another unit by +1/+1. Buffs all round, and the enemy will often struggle to handle you.
Cards like Guile and Arachnoid Sentry are here to stop your opponent going too hard in the early game. Stunning foes sets you on your way to upgrading Yasuo, and you’ll also be able to beef up your Fae Bladetwirler. With Quick Attack, your enemy will struggle to get rid of this unit, and with enough Stuns and Recalls, its attack power goes off the charts.
Mid game: If you’ve reached the mid game and you’re not snowballing to victory, it might be getting to Yasuo time. He can take out enemy units whilst you Stun them. If Yasuo is upgraded and on board, Intimidating Roar has the potential to just completely clear an enemy board. Steel Tempest and Will of Ionia can hold off enemies in a pinch too, since they can be cast during combat as Fast spells.
Katarina can be put on board to grab yourself some extra turns too, letting you attack once she’s been upgraded and Recalled. Remember - Katarina can be recalled upon Striking before taking damage thanks to her Quick Attack ability, and after that she allows you to Rally for 4 mana. This potentially gives you three attacks per turn.
Late game: Sometimes, your games will just run overtime. It happens. Thankfully, we’ve got some late-game treats for you to close things out with. Minotaur Reckoner is a 6 mana 6/6 that’ll Stun the weakest enemy every single round, allowing for ludicrous combos with Yasuo if you can get both units surviving on board at the same time.
Yone, Windchaser is equally scary in the late game, especially if your opponent has few strong units on board. You’ll be able to stop them from blocking you for one final push, as well as stall them out from an attack. Once you’re this far into the game, you should be able to close things out. Whatever you do, don’t surrender - your potential draws always leave room for victory even when you’re on 1 Health and fading fast. A couple stuns can give you enough time to set up for lethal, and your Elusive units will always be able to sneak by.

Yasuo Elusive Mulligan guide
These are the cards you’ll want to make the best possible start with Yasuo Elusive:
- 1. Inspiring Mentor works a treat as an early play, especially if you can Recall it with Novari Conspirator.
- 2. Fae Bladetwirler has fantastic potential to win you the game swiftly, especially with Stun effects available to you.
- 3. Greenglade Duo is a solid way to push early damage too, considering its Elusive status. Remember, they’ll get stronger when you summon minions, but lose this buff at the end of a round.
Yasuo Elusive tips, combos and synergies
Here’s an overview of the synergies to look out for in this Yasuo Elusive deck. Keep an eye out for more once the metagame has time to grow.
- Remember, Yasuo and Fae Bladetwirler upgrade with all Stuns and Recalls, not just ones you inflict on opponents. This means your Katarina sending herself back to your hand with every Strike does absolute wonders for several different uses.
- Intimidating Roar impacts every single enemy unit, as long as they have 4 or less attack power. Be careful though - it’s a Slow spell so your opponent will be able to Deny it or buff their units out of range if you let them.
- Culling Strike should usually be played when the enemy brings out something like Braum - high impact, but low attack.
- Minotaur Reckoner Stuns an enemy every single turn, so if you can afford to make the expensive 6 mana play, you can get a ludicrous amount of long-term value for him.
- Save your Deny spells to block important enemy plays. You can bait big spells out by not using your Deny on previous plays. For example, saving Deny for a For Demacia! rather than using it on Detain can save your life late on.
- Use Inspiring Mentor to buff your Elusive minions if possible. They’ll get a bunch more value from the extra power because of how much harder they are to remove.
- Katarina allows you to Rally, meaning you get an Attack token if you don’t have one already. This means it’s often worth attacking on your own turn before playing Katarina out, giving you yet another attack.
- Steel Tempest is a lifesaver in so many situations, as it just negates damage from enemies. You’ll often be able to take them out completely when combined with Yasuo.
