Sixteen people from the League of Legends pro scene have been sanctioned by Riot as a result of negative in-game behaviour in September.

The developers have cited "griefing or toxic language in chat" when playing in the Korea solo queue, and have fined four players up to $2,000 each for their involvement.

Danil Reshetnikov has been fined $1,000 based on his actions and prior disciplinary history in the LCL. Seunglok Kang has likewise been fined $1,000 for intentionally feeding and using toxic language. Jian Zihao has received a $2,000 fine for griefing, and intentionally feeding on an account not belonging to him.

Additionally, Yeonsung Choi - head coach of Afreeca Freecs - has been fined $1,500 based on his negative behaviour, and prior disciplinary history in the LCK.

Twelve other players have received formal warnings for abusive language towards teammates or opponents. They are:

  • Daniele "Jiizuke" Di Mauro (VIT)
  • Amadeu "Attila" Carvalho (VIT)
  • Minkook "Dreams" Han (VIT)
  • Luka "Perkz" Perkovic (G2)
  • Petter "Hjarnan" Freyschuss (G2)
  • Dennis "Svenskeren" Johnsen (C9)
  • Stanislav "Lodik" Kornelyuk (GMB)
  • Zhen-Ning "Ning" Gao (IG)
  • Uijin "Rookie" Song (IG)
  • Li “4LivcloveR” Zhe (EDG)
  • Jaeha "Mowgly" Lee (AFR)
  • Hyesung "Comet" Lim (AFR)

Stressing that the frequency of reports for each of these twelve players was low, and that the language used didn't warrant a fine or ban, Riot has nevertheless warned that further infractions involving the game's code of conduct will result in enhanced penalties being applied to each of these players.

Full details of the ruling can be viewed over at the announcement post on the official League of Legends esports site.
