Week 4 of the LEC has just come to a close and it’s becoming clear that G2 is just about the best team in Europe right now.

They rounded off the week’s competition by dismantling Fnatic in record time, taking just over 20 minutes to rack up 15 kills and a 14,000 gold lead.

It’s safe to say Fnatic's found themselves struggling since their star midlaner, Caps, moved over to G2. Typically the organisation to fear in the European League of Legends scene, this year they find themselves languishing in joint eighth place alongside exceL Esports.

Meanwhile FC Schalke 04 proved they're also strong contenders for the title, putting together a convincing performance against Misfits and narrowly losing out to Origen to match Vitality at second place in the standings.

Misfits started off strong in the Spring Split with back-to-back victories, but now a few cracks are beginning to show. They lost to both Schalke and Splyce this week, putting them joint fifth in the standings alongside Origen.

Origen themseleves were in Fnatics position not too long ago and struggled to find their form. Now they’ve turned things around, and secured important victories against SK and Rogue to break even at fours wins and four losses.

Elsewhere, Splyce is a potential dark horse this split as they put in consistent performances which have netted them fourth place in the standings.

SK and exceL Esports sit at 7th and 8th place in the standings respectively, but seem to mature with every week that passes. Let's see how far they can push in the weeks ahead.

Rogue is still searching for their first victory, and sit at the bottom of the standings with eight losses. It has a tough week five ahead too, with matches against Schalke and Misfits.
