Darshan “Darshan” Upadhyaya has announced his departure from CLG prior to the start of the upcoming LCS Summer Split. He’s now open to opportunities from any region, including a coaching position too.

News of Darshan’s departure was confirmed via CLG’s social media channels and was accompanied by a farewell video featuring some of the organisation’s players and staff wishing him well in his next venture.

The news will come as quite a surprise to CLG fans considering Darshan has been a key member of the team since he joined the squad back in 2015. Over his four year period with the team, he brought home two NA LCS trophies, numerous second and third place LCS finishes and was part of the squad which reached the finals of MSI 2016.

As rosters chop and change before the LCS Summer Split gets underway, it’s likely Darshan will be inundated with offers. He’s a veteran of the LCS and any team on the hunt for an experienced top laner will surely turn to him as a prime candidate.

For now we’ll just have to wait and see where Darshan will end up next, and who will be replacing him on CLG. Rumours have it that 1907 Fenerbahce top laner Kim “Ruin” Hyeong-min may have occupied his former spot already.
