A new Tavern Brawl is now live on all Hearthstone servers, and this week sees the return of ShiftCon. It's fast becoming one of the most common Brawls to show up on the rotation, and sees the encounter make its fourth appearance since its introduction in June of last year.

This is a fun but somewhat frustrating challenge, with a huge heap of randomness involved. Once you've picked a hero, you'll be given a deck containing a randoms selection of spells, along with many copies of Shifter Zerus. To help get things moving, you also start with three Mana Crystals rather than the usual one.

Here's the official description for ShiftCon:

Swap stories with fellow shifters at the tavern's Shifter Convention! Choose a class. We'll fill your deck with Shifters and spells.

Shifter Zerus turns into a random minion at the start of each turn which means sometimes you have no play to make with your current Mana reserves, or the plays you do have are particularly weak against your opponent's. It's not one of our favourites to be honest, but you will as always receive a free Classic card pack for getting at least one win this week.

Given the huge amount of random interaction in this Brawl it's very hard for us to recommend picking a particular hero. With that said, we finally busted through and got our card pack by playing Hunter and using that two-damage Hero Power to fill any gaps in our Mana curve and chip away at the opponent's health too.

If you've any tips of your own for beating the encounter this week, please share them in the comments!
