Blizzard has just announced a new Deck Recipe feature for Hearthstone, which the developers hope will encourage new and old players alike to get a little more creative when it comes to their deck-building skills.
In order to make use of the new function, you'll simply head to the My Collection section of the game's interface, hit New Deck as you've always done, but instead of just piling in cards as you see fit, you'll also have the option to make use of a recipe.
Each Hero in the game will have access to three recipes in total: one Classic, and two themed. The former are made purely from Basic and Classic cards, which should help new players get something at least vaguely useful together. The themed recipes, however, will involve special synergies that will likely require a healthy collection of cards.
You can see some examples of how these themed recipes work in the image below.
If you're missing an essential card, never fear! Special functionality has been built into the system so that the game will trawl through the collection of cards you do own, and present one of these cards as a suitable alternative. For some reason, going by the image below, that means swapping Bloodmage Thalnos out for an Amani Berserker. Of course...
No release date has been revealed for this new feature, although it seems reasonable to expect it to arrive with the next expansion. We're expecting solid news on that at a special event being held this Friday.
