The Hearthstone Champship Tour (HCT) Summer Championship finals kick off this weekend, and pro player has Stanisav "StanCifka" Cifka has posted his thoughts on who's likely to come out on top over on Reddit.
First up on the recommended list is a player that many in the community are backing for victory, Pavel. He's bringing Jade Druid, Tempo Rogue, Evolve Shaman and Highlander Priest to the tourmament, and as StanCifka rightly mentions these powerful decks are going be piloted by a supremely talented player.
Other highlighted players include Trunks (who's focusing on beating Druid quite hard with his deck designs), the always popular Orange, and Purple who StanCifka believes will be banning Druid whenever possible. He also notes a great deal of similarity between Orange and Purple's deck lists, which may indicate a degree of - entirely legitimate - collaboration at the preparation stage.
Not everyone gets such a glowing review in the appraisal. Omegazero gets some harsh criticism for fielding a Druid deck that isn't Jade Druid, as well as for fielding Hunter because....Hunter. Baize's decks are also comparatively weak according to StanCifka, while Cocosasa takes home the wooden spoon for bringing Elemental Tempo Rogue to a gun-fight.
Some other interesting stats are also highlighted in the post. Every single player is bringing some kind of Priest deck to the tournament (with Highlander Priest being the clear favourite), 14 of the 16 participants are packing Druid, and 12 players are running at least some kind of Rogue deck. A solid reflection of the current meta overall really.
Don't forget that the Choose Your Champion promotion is active for this tournament, which means you can earn up to four Frozen Throne card packs just for picking the winner.
