Four European players have now qualified for the HCT Winter Championship, based on their performances at this weekend's HCT Winter Playoffs.

Those players are Faeli, Bunnyhoppor, Viper and ThunderUP.

In Group A Faeli had the strongest run, and overcame Casie in the second round to be declared the overall group winner.

After losing their opening matches, Mauri and Bunnyhoppor both entered an Elimination round, which the latter subsequently won.

Bunnyhoppor then denied Casie a second chance at qualification, taking the Group A Runner Up spot in the process.

In Group B it was Viper who proved the dominant force, taking the top spot from dawido in the second stage.

Psyhodel and ThunderUp were the Group's Elimination match-up, with ThunderUP going on to beat dawido and take the Runner Up position for Group B.

With the European qualifiers settled, attention now turns to the other regions competing for their spots in the final stage of the HCT Winter Championship.

The Americas region will test their champions this weekend on the 19th and 20th January. After that, the Asia-Pacific competitors will enter the fray on the 26th and 27th January. China dates have not yet been confirmed.

Once the top two players from all four regions have been determined, they'll head to the Blizzard Arena in Los Angeles for the final stages of the competition.

Full details have yet to be confirmed for this event, but we'll add details to the homepage as soon as they become available.
