A new Tavern Brawl is now live on all global servers and it's a new one called Encounter at the Crossbones! If the name sounds a little familiar, you might be thinking of Encounter at the Crossroads but this is a distinct battle.
In this particularly random encounter, you'll be presented with a random hero when you hit the Brawl button, and your deck is also 100% randomly determined.
There are some slight weightings at work in the background, however. For a start, you'll always get your hero's Death Knight card in the deck you're given, and there's much more weighting given to Frozen Throne cards appearing in the overall deck list.

Given the huge amount of uncertainty in this week's Brawl there's very little strategic advice we can give you if you want to bag your free Classic card pack for notching up your first win.
We would, however, suggest that you play a value game wherever possible, make the most beneficial trades, and try to maintain board control as much as possible. You can't predict what's coming next, after all, and so you want to ensure a board clear doesn't leave your opponent with a presence while you struggle to make a comeback.
At least a passing familiarity with your hero's Death Knight card will also make life a lot easier, so you can work its effects into your overall game plan. Here are all nine of the cards so you can quickly get a feel for what you're working towards with any given hero:
- Druid - Malfurion the Pestilent
- Hunter - Deathstalker Rexxar
- Mage - Frost Lich Jaina
- Paladin - Uther of the Ebon Blade
- Priest - Shadowreaper Anduin
- Rogue - Valeera the Hollow
- Shaman - Thrall, Deathseer
- Warlock - Bloodreaver Gul'dan
- Warrior - Scourgelord Garrosh
That's about all the advice we can give you! If you've got any tips of your own for beating Encounter at the Crossbones, sign up and share you insight with us in the comments.
