David “dog” Caero has won the first of this year's Masters Tour events, pocketing a very tidy $100,00 prize money in the process.

The first of the big showdowns was held in Las Vegas, and saw nearly 300 players competing for their piece of the overall $500,000 prize pool.

The tournament ended with a final showdown between dog and Gallon, with the former ultimately triumphing in the flagship event.

Despite a very popular start for the new format, the competition hasn't been without its controversy, however.

Third-party tournament service Battlefy was used to host the official information, with details of brackets, deck lists and so on.

Unfortunately a technical hiccup meant that submitted decks were visible to players before the deadline for submitting decks had occurred.

That gave other players the opportunity to tweak the decks they'd already submitted, based on this publicly available competitive insight.

We're still waiting for Blizzard to provide a statement regarding this unfortunate situation, but will update this article if a public statement is made.
