Blizzard has announced a new HGG Cheer programme for fans of the Hearthstone Global Games, allowing them to use Twitch's Bits currency to unlock new chat emotes and earn in-game rewards.
When a play impresses you, you'll be able to click on the Bits icon to cheer on the players involved. When you do so a team-themed animated emote will play out in chat. The more Bits you spend, the flashier the visual element becomes.
As teams receive more Cheers their revenue share from the programme will also increase. As for players watching the tournament, participation in HGG Cheer will eventually unlock in-game rewards such as card packs and card backs.
In order to claim these rewards you'll need to first of all link together your Blizzard and Twitch accounts. You can find a complete guide to getting started over at Twitch's dedicated support page, which also contains details on how to earn Bits without spending real money.
The HGG tournament has been running since July, with Hearthstone players themselves determining the four-person team composition of the 48 represented countries.
The last remaining rounds of the Hearthstone Global Games conclude at the end of this month, with the final eight teams progressing to the finals which are scheduled to take place at this year's BlizzCon fan gathering in November.
