Missed out on the chance to play a historical Hearthstone Adventure? Want to purchase Wild packs rather than craft individual cards?

In an upcoming patch you'll be able to do both. The news was revealed during the Wild Open tournament that took place this weekend, and was confirmed shortly afterwards on the official Hearthstone blog.

The following card packs and Adventures will be available to purchase from the official site - not the game - “in the coming weeks”, according to Blizzard:

  • The Curse of Naxxramas
  • Goblins vs Gnomes
  • Blackrock Mountain
  • The Grand Tournament
  • The League of Explorers

The online store doesn't currently accept payment using in-game gold reserves, so unless things change you'll only be able to buy this old content using real money.

As soon as we have a firm start date for this new Wild development, we'll update this news story.

Giving with one hand and taking away with the other. Really pleased to have the chance to get my hands on a selection of cards that I didn't have access to before. Now I'm looking forward to being able to compete in Wild. I've seen some really crazy combo's that I've been quite envious of. I wonder what their public reasoning behind not using in game gold. I know it's financial but I want to see what spin they put on it.
