Hearthstone: Zayle, Shadow Cloak Guide

Everything you need to know about the new deck-building card.

Zayle, Shadow Cloak is a new Hearthstone card that you can acquire from the upcoming Dalaran Heist single-player content.

It functions identically to Whizzbang the Wonderful from The Boomsday Project set, in that when it is added to a deck from the Collection screen it will form the entire basis of that deck. Then, when you start a game, your deck will be randomly chosen from one of five different deck recipes.

It’s a mightily interesting card for Blizzard to print as it gives players with a more limited collection the chance to try out many more decks that could potentially be out of reach based on their current card pool. It can also offer a fun challenge for others who want to see how far they can climb up the ranked ladder using more unconventional methods.

If either of those sounds like something you’re itching to try, then have a read on as we unveil everything you need to know about Zayle, Shadow Cloak, including how you can add the card to your collection and what deck recipes are currently available to use (these will be added as soon as the card goes live).

UPDATE - MAY 2019

The Zayle deck lists have been uncovered and we've added them into this article in a separate section. Have fun!

How to unlock Zayle, Shadow Cloak

Zayle, Shadow Cloak is unlocked by playing through and completing all five chapters across The Dalaran Heist campaign.

These five chapters will launch over the course of a month starting at some point in May. The first chapter will be available for free, with subsequent chapters costing you 700 Gold.

If you prefer, you can choose to purchase all five chapters at once for $19.99/£16.99. Then, as and when each one launches, you’ll have it ready to play on release day.

In order to complete each chapter, you’ll have to battle your way through eight different encounters without losing a single duel. Each chapter features its own location within the city of Dalaran, which all have their own unique modifiers for you to contend with or exploit to achieve victory.

For a better idea of these encounters, plus some tips and tricks on how to defeat each one, be sure to venture over to our Dalaran Heist guide.

On that page, you’ll also find a breakdown of each class, their decks and the hero powers you can choose between at the start of each run. It should help you pull off the job without a hitch!
