About John Bedford

John is Metabomb's Editor in Chief, and is responsible for all of the Hearthstone news, features and guides content on the site.

On this page you can vote for the best Hearthstone expansion since the vanilla game was launched back in 2014!

Now that Un'Goro's been out for a couple of months, it seems like a fair time to take stock of how the latest drop of cards have impacted Hearthstone, and how Un'Goro stacks up against the historical card sets. Has it added more variety than previous releases? Is the game more fun than ever before as a result of these new additions?

Rather than us just laying down what we believe to be the definitive order of things though, we wanted to try something a little bit different this time around, and turn the whole thing over to you! All you have to do to make your voice heard is find your favourite card set from the options below, then click on the little arrow to the left of each one to make your selection.

Want to make a firmer case for your favourite? Voting will remain open until the next expansion, but we'd love for you to post some of your thoughts about your selection in the comments section. We'll be highlighting your best contributions in this article in around one week from now.

Thanks for taking part, and we can't wait to see who comes out on top!

UPDATE #1 - Voting's still open - and will remain so until the next expansion - but at the time of updating this article Whispers of the Old Gods is just squeaking past Journey to Un'Goro for top spot. Here are some of the things you've been saying:

Fanap: "Whispers was the most fun right out of the gate. 2nd choice would be Mean Streets. Un'goro has taken a while to grow on me. Barely remember Goblins. Joust drove me crazy with Grand Tournament."

lgemmer: "Having Yogg turn the game around for you is one of the best-feeling experiences in Hearthstone."

I loved Goblins Vs Gnomes. It set up the game for great tempo play and a typical game was over somewhere between turn 9 and 13. I'm getting sick of the usual 25 turn games we're seeing nowadays.

@lgemmr The thing I like about Yogg is that it played Blizzard at their own RNG game. I bet they never saw a nerf coming for that card, but the HWC finals last year would have looked ridiculous with Yogg deciding matches.

@fanap The thing I liked about the C'Thun decks is that they weren't just gimmicks that never took off, yet at the same time they found their natural counters. I was still updating C'Thun deck guides in March this year - that's incredible longevity and it's good for the game if people can come back to something they know.

Goblins is a close second to Old Gods for me. I think it's the most fun I had in the game - I loved Tempo Mage back then although it probably outstayed its welcome a bit.

I can still remember the first thrill from dropping a super-powered C'thun (sigh)...
