Wild Cubelock deck list guide - Hearthstone - Kobolds

With new-ish deck Cubelock absolutely dominating the Standard ladder, it should come as no surprise to learn that it's proving just as effective in the Wild format right now. Although it's a pricey deck to put together, it's probably your best option for transitioning over into Wild if you fancy getting a taste of the action over there.

Because we've already covered the archetype in-depth elsewhere on the site, we're keeping our Wild guide to Cubelock pretty brief for now. We've got a deck list for you to mess around with, of course, but apart from that we're focusing on the combos for this particular version of the archetype. We may update it further over time, but we think this is probably all the extra information you need for now.

Wild Cubelock Mulligan guide

Regardless of the match-up you find yourself in, Kobold Librarian provides incredible value. Not only does it get you something out on the board nice and early on, it also helps you start drawing into the decks many tools. To a lesser degree you will also value keeping Voidcaller, as you should draw into a decent Demon minion by the time you drop this character onto the board.

Any aggro deck is going to want to bring you down asap and before you can start laying down thick, end-game taunts. For that reason you need to keep their board in check, and so you'll benefit from keeping Defile or Hellfire to stop their board development getting out of control.

Wild Cubelock tips, combos and synergies

These are the combos you really need to make second-nature before taking this deck to the Wild ladder. Good luck and don't forget to let us know how you've got on with it.

- Dark Pact combos particularly nicely with Possessed Lackey. Not only do you get a nice injection of Health, you'll also Recruit one of your beefy Demons onto the board when the Lackey is obliterated.

- Forget about the self-damage penalty of Kobold Librarian. You're a Warlock after all, so throw this guy on the board, enjoy your free card and wave goodbye to such a trifling amount of Health.

- If you're unfamiliar with Defile, it does one point of damage. If any minions - friendly or otherwise - die as a result, then it gets cast again. This keeps happening until no minions are killed. You may need to make partial trades to set up a nice chain of repeat casts here, leaving a minion with one Health, a minion with two Health, another with three and so on.

- Don't forget that Hellfire not only harms your own minions as well as the opponent's, but both Heroes also take three points of damage. Just keep that in mind while you're burning through your life tally.

- Spiritsinger Umbra can be combo'd with Carnivorous Cube to incredible effect. Consider having Doomcaller or Voidlord on the board, for example. If you play the Spiritsinger followed by the Cube, the Cube's targets will be immediately summoned. There's the potential for huge value to be achieved in this context.

- When Voidcaller is destroyed, a random Demon that's currently sat in your hand will be put onto the board free of charge. Check the bottom of each card to see which minions are members of this category. Suffice to say you have lots of incredible options in this Demon-heavy deck!

- Here's how Lesser Amethyste Spellstone works. In its most primitive starting form it does three damage to a minion while restoring the same amount of Health to your hero. If you take damage from one of your cards though, that increases to five damage. Take further damage and the Spellstone upgrades again and maxes out at seven.

- If Sylvanas Windrunner dies, her spirit will select a remaining random enemy minion and drag it over to your side of the board. Try to make trades in such a way that you get a preferential target from this sneaky process.

- As long as Mal'Ganis as alive on the board, your opponent will not be able to damage your Hero and all of your Demons will have an extra + 2 / + 2 of stats to boot. When you consider cards like Voidlord in particular, you can see just what a pounding headache this is going to give your opponent!

- When Bloodreaver Gul'Dan is played, your board will be flooded with Demon minion that died earlier on in the match. You'll also gain a new Hero Power which dishes out three points of damage to any enemy target.

- In a similar fashion, N'Zoth, the Corruptor re-summons all of the friendly Deathrattle minions that got destroyed in previous turns.
