Secret Libram Paladin deck list guide - Forged in the Barrens - Hearthstone (April 2021)

How to play Secret Libram Paladin.

Secret Libram Paladin takes all the tasty stuff brought to you by Secret Paladin, and chucks in the ever-powerful Libram package to boost it significantly. You have the board clear potential of Libram of Justice, the minion buffs of Libram of Wisdom, and even the desperate-measures survivability brought by Libram of Hope.

At time of writing it’s right at the top of the metagame, so get on it if you happen to have the cards in your collection.

We’re playing this version of Secret Libram Paladin pretty fast. You have early chip damage, disruption of enemy play, and some big bombs all available at the same time, so it’s important to actually use them. Here’s our full guide to how to play Secret Libram Paladin in Hearthstone.

Secret Libram Paladin Mulligan Guide

Here’s what you should keep in your opening hand for Secret Libram Paladin:

1. Sword of the Fallen is the absolute best card to keep. It has the highest mulligan win-rate, and gets Secrets out of your deck, allowing your draws to be more valuable plays from hand.

2. Aldor Attendant is another fantastic starter card. Contesting the board really nicely for 1 mana, you’ll also be able to cast your Librams more cheaply for the entire rest of the game.

3. First Day of School is super reliable in the early game. It gives you cheap bodies to buff with Hand of A'dal and Libram of Wisdom, as well as the potential for extra copies of your best minions like Aldor Attendant and Pen Flinger.

Secret Libram Paladin tips, combos and synergies

Here are some Forged in the Barrens tips for Secret Libram Paladin:

- Attacking with Sword of the Fallen will pull a Secret out of your deck. In this case it’ll either be Oh My Yogg!, Galloping Savior, or Avenge. If it’s Avenge, remember it’ll only trigger if another minion is alive when your other minion is killed.

- Taelan Fordring guarantees a draw of Lady Liadrin if you haven’t drawn her already.

- Lady Liadrin gives you extra copies of all spells you’ve cast on friendly characters - this means you have to have clicked specifically on either a friendly minion or your face while casting it. In this deck, that means you get extra copies of:

  • Hand of A'dal
  • Libram of Wisdom
  • Libram of Hope

- Remember that Northwatch Commander requires a Secret active to trigger its Battlecry - the card will have a yellow outline if this is the case.

- In order to craft a golem with Kazakus, Golem Shaper, you’ll need to have no other 4-drops in your deck. This’ll be the case unless your opponent or you end up shuffling 4-cost cards into there. This includes discounted Librams, so look out for the yellow outline on your Kazakus, Golem Shaper.

- Knight of Anointment draws your Holy spells from your deck. This includes the following:

  • Avenge
  • Hand of A'dal
  • Libram of Wisdom
  • Libram of Justice
  • Libram of Hope

- Always count for lethal damage with Pen Flinger - you can re-trigger the Battlecry every time you cast a spell from your hand which can be free if you have discounted Librams or a First Day of School.

- Libram of Hope is a great final gambit card - remember to target your own face most of the time, and you’ll be able to get more copies of the discounted spell back later by playing Lady Liadrin.
