Fortnite’s third content drop for patch v9.30 has brought with it an Air Strike throwable which blankets an area with missiles after a short delay.

Fling an Air Strike canister on the ground and it’ll release a pool of red smoke upon landing, signalling to any caught in the area that they’ve got roughly two seconds before the heavens open and missiles start raining down from the sky.

Here’s a look at the new item in action:

It’s clear the Air Strike will be a great tool for flushing enemies out of their forts as they’ll be forced to flee or face almost certain death.

Elsewhere in the patch notes, it’s pretty quiet. Let’s not forget Season 10 is almost upon us, so perhaps this is the calm before the storm.

A number of LTMs are returning, such as High Explosives, Sneaky Silencers Solo and Solid Gold Duos to name a few.

Lastly, there’s a mobile update which addresses the number of eliminations needed for a Victory Royale in the Team Rumble LTM.
