Details of the Fortnite: Battle Royale V.3.3 changes, from Supply Llamas to the removal of smoke grenades from the game.
The first details of V.3.3 of Fortnite: Battle Royale have been teased, and one of the new features that will hit the game a little later on this week is....Supply Llamas.
These creatures will be found randomly around the map, and are described in the video as being capable of "helping you out in a pinch". You'll be able to interact with them in the same way you currently do with objects like ammo cans and treasure chests.
Llamas are already featured in the game's PVE Save the World component, so we can look to their use in that portion of the game for an idea of what to expect in Battle Royale.
In effect, they function as lootboxes which can be purchased using V-Bucks or are provided as a Daily Reward. They contain various upgrades, and are a little like smashable pinatas. It's possible that in Battle Royale they'll contain temporary use cosmetic items, or hard item upgrades - we'll have to wait and see.
Editor's UPDATE: Epic's teased us with another tweet which we've posted in the section just below. We'll be updating this guide once we've got some hands on time with the new update dropping tomorrow - stay tuned!

Looks like they'll be added into the game alongside Golden Chests as a way of earning loot and getting geared up. We're not entirely sure how these Llamas will differ from Golden Chests, but we have a feeling the loot you'll earn from them will be of a higher rarity in general. For now we'll just have to wait and see...
When the update launches tomorrow, we'll be sure to cover it in detail on the site and completely overhaul this page with the latest information too. Keep this page bookmarked!

Elsewhere in the video it's been confirmed that smoke grenades are going to be temporarily moved to the vault. A combination of player feedback and internal analytics has shown that they're simply not being used as much as they should be.
They'll join SMGs there, pending a re-work. Once the team has finished tweaking and testing the new and improved version of the smoke grenade internally, they'll be released back into the game.
That's all we have on V.3.3 of Fortnite for now. Expect the new content to be patched in during this Thursday's usual weekly maintenance window. Our Fortnite: Battle Royale guide contains everything else you need to know about the game!
