Our Fortnite: Week 5 Challenges guide details all of the new Season 4 Challenges, which features searching for Gravity Stones and following a treasure map found in Greasy Grove.
In Fortnite: Battle Royale, a new week presents a brand new set of challenges to work through.
If you’re unfamiliar with Fortnite’s Weekly Challenge system, it’s a simple affair that’s not something worth getting too worked up about. Each week you’ll have a total of seven tasks to complete, with some being very simple, and others requiring some serious effort to nail down.
Completing Weekly Challenges are well worth your while, as they’ll each reward you with Battle Stars that’ll go towards ranking up your Battle Pass. This means more unique cosmetics like Gliders, Backblings and Outfits going straight into your locker!
As we’ve said though, a couple of these challenges prove to be a lot tougher than the rest. You’ll have to rely on map knowledge to seek out buried treasure or get a little lucky finding a handful of hidden items. To help you complete them with minimal effort, we’ve put together a guide that’ll take you through each Week 5 Challenge and how to beat them as quickly as possible.
Some of the toughest tasks have their own detailed guides, so just use the navigation bar below and click through if you need help with the trickiest ones. Don’t forget that we’ve also put together a huge Season 4 guide that’s got all the help you need for Week 1, Week 2, Week 3 and Week 4’s Challenges!
Turns out that Epic's made a few tweaks to the challenges this week and we've updated this page accordingly.
So, what's changed?
- Use a Jetpack has been replaced with: "Use a Vending Machine".

These are all of Week 5’s Challenges in Fortnite, then. Just below we’ve put together a comprehensive list of tips and tricks for getting each one finished without too much hassle.
Deal damage with SMGs to opponents
To get this challenge out of the way quickly, we’d recommend hunting for an SMG in each and every match you’re involved in. Once you’ve got hold of one, use it almost exclusively as your primary weapon. You don’t need to secure kills, just deal damage to enemies and you’ll get this challenge done and dusted eventually.
Search chests in Dusty Divot
There’s not much for it with this challenge either. Your best bet is to dedicate a number of matches to landing here. As soon as you’ve touched ground, start scouring the area for any glowing chests and start cracking them open.
Make sure you play these matches out and don’t quit them early as your efforts will go to waste otherwise!
Use a Vending Machine
For this challenge all you'll need to do is use one of the Vending Machine scattered around Fortnite's map. In order to do so, you'll need to have gathered some resources so you can exchange them for a item.
If you need help locating a Vending Machine, our All Vending Machine Locations guide has got you covered!
Once you’ve found one, simply interact with it and the challenge will be ticked off.
Dance with others to raise the Disco Ball near Loot Lake
To get this challenge done and dusted, you'll need to head on over to the Northernmost warehouse on the twin pier at Loot Lake. On your minimap, it's just a little North West of the "L" in "Loot Lake".

Proceed inside the warehouse and you'll notice four platforms surrounding a Disco Ball in the center. The key is to have one ally stood on each of the platforms so all four of you are circled around the Disco Ball. Then it's just a case of busting a move at the same time so it raises the Disco Ball to the very top - challenge complete!

Follow the treasure map found in Greasy Grove
Niitq’s always got us covered for these treasure map challenges, and this time it’s no different. Just watch the video of his below and it’ll show you where to find the hidden Battle Stars when the Challenge goes live later today.

Minigun or Light Machine Gun Eliminations
To get this challenge ticked off, we’d recommend employing the same tactics as the SMG task. Search for chests until you’ve got your hands on either one of these weapons. Then it’s a case of using them as much as possible to secure kills.
Playing with friends in squads or duos will mean enemies with zero health go into a down-but-not-out state. If you manage to down an enemy, you can “share” the kill and finish them off with a few rounds from your Minigun or Light Machine Gun.
Eliminate opponents in Lucky Landing
Finally, to get this challenge out of the way, your best bet is to float into Lucky Landing from the get-go. Search for a weapon once you’ve touched ground and get on the offense straight away. Chances are you’ll catch some players off guard before they’ve even had a chance to gear up themselves.
Repeat this process over the course of a few matches and it won’t be long before this challenge is done!
