A list of all the challenges in Week 2 of Season 5 of Fortnite, with tips, tricks and strategy advice for completing each one and earning your Battle Star rewards.
Season 5 of Fortnite’s now well underway and that can only mean one thing - there’s another set of Weekly Challenges to complete!
If you’re unaware of the changes, there’s now only seven challenges to tackle each week, but you’ll only be able to complete three of them if you haven’t purchased the Battle Pass. The remaining four are available exclusively for those who’ve forked out cash for the premium Season 5 Battle Pass.
This week’s free challenges are pretty standard fare. You’ll need to eliminate opponents with Assault Rifles, take on enemies in Paradise Palms and attempt to open 7 Ammo Boxes in a single match (okay this one’s really tough).
Moving onto the Battle Pass Challenges, and they're certainly take some doing. You’ll need to track down a number of Basketball hoops, search between an oasis, rock archway and some dinosaurs too. The fact that the map’s mixed up a bit since the start of Season 5 makes it all the more tricky.
To help you out, we’ve put together a list of all the challenges, along with some helpful strategy advice to complete them as quickly as possible.

Those are all of the challenges available in Week 2 of Fortnite Season 5, then, but how do you complete them all? Good question, and in the rest of this article we'll go through each task one by one.
Deal damage with Assault Rifles to opponents
This one’s pretty simple and involves getting hold of an Assault Rifle. Once you’ve done so, use it as your primary weapon in almost every firefight you’re involved in.
To complete this challenge you’ll need to deal 1000 points of damage in total, so don’t be afraid to let loose on any targets you see to up this total over time.
It’s a challenge that can be completed over multiple matches, so be aggressive, land as many hits as you can and you’ll get this challenge done in no time at all.
Search 7 Ammo Boxes in a single match
Probably one of the toughest challenges we’ve come across in Fortnite, this one involves cracking open seven Ammo Boxes in one match only - progress resets every game.
One of the best strategies is to play things really safe and avoid conflict as much as possible. Sneak around the map, don’t get into fights and focus all your efforts on clearing out rooms instead.
Ammo Boxes are actually quite hard to spot, so make sure you’re scanning each room carefully. Sometimes they’ll be positioned up on shelves, right next to chests or tucked away in the corner of rooms.
Any locations which have multi-storey buildings are usually ideal for finding Ammo Boxes. Snobby Shores seems to be home to many of them, along with the likes of Tilted Towers too.
Eliminate opponents in Paradise Palms
To get this challenge done and dusted, you’ll need to eliminate 3 enemies in Paradise Palms over however many games it takes.
We’d recommend dedicating each match to landing in Paradise Palms and looting up as soon as you land to get the headstart on your opponents. If you’ve managed to grab some gear, then go on the hunt for some eliminations.
A Shotgun or Assault Rifle is the ideal pickup for this challenge as they’re easily some of the strongest weapons in the game when duelling enemies at all ranges.

Score a basket on different hoops
Basketball’s a popular sport in the Fortnite universe and there are quite a basketball courts around the map which are perfect for practicing your hooping skills.
Completing this challenge involves dunking 5 basketballs in 5 hoops across the map. This means you’ll need the Basketball Toy which you’ll unlock at Tier 11 before you can get started. Once you’ve managed to get there, seek these places out, line up your shot and sink those balls.
Finding 5 basketball courts can be difficult though, so we’ve put a Basketball Hoops page which contains all the spots we’re aware of so far. If you’ve found any others, we’d love for you to sign up and comment so we can make this resource the best out there!
Search between an oasis, rock archway, and dinosaurs
Searching between points of interest challenges return for Season 5 of Fortnite, and in order to get hold of this week’s Battle Stars you’ll need to find the hidden Battle Stars tucked away between some of the game’s newest inclusions.
Thankfully, community members have already figured things out, so all you have to do is head to the right spot and wait for the Battle Stars to spring from the earth. We’ve put together a dedicated Search Between an oasis, rock archway, and dinosaurs page which’ll break down all the steps involved.
Sniper Rifle Eliminations
This challenge might take longer than the others, simply because you’ll need to be lucky enough to stumble into a Sniper Rifle to get it started.
Once you’ve found one, try and engage in long distance fights as often as possible. Make sure you’re taking into account bullet drop and leading your opponents when they’re running in a straight line. It’s important to be patient and take an extra split second to line up each shot if need be - don’t hurry yourself as you’re more likely to miss!
It also goes without saying, aim for the head as much as you can.
