Fortnite: Week 1 Challenges (Season 4)

Here’s an overview of every Week 1 Challenge in Fortnite.

Just below we’ve put together a comprehensive list of tips and tricks for getting each one finished without too much hassle.

Deal damage with Sniper Rifles to opponents

This one’s pretty obvious, but you're going to need to bag a Sniper Rifle before hunting down your targets. Your best bet is go about playing the game as normal, making sure to loot as much as you can and even chasing enemies that have Snipers themselves.

Once you’ve got hold of one, it’s then a case of using it exclusively to wrack up damage. Remember that there’s bullet drop, so you’ll have to lead your enemy if they’re running, or aim a bit higher than usual if they’re particularly far away.

This isn’t a challenge worth rushing though, as you’re likely to complete this naturally over time. Remember as well that you don't have to kill your target using the Sniper Rifle, you just have to damage them with it.

Search Chests in Haunted Hills

You've no option here but to land in - or make your way to - Haunted Hills when a match begins. Focus on a swift landing and then once you’ve hit solid ground, start scouring the area for as many chests as possible.

Ignore combat and focus wholeheartedly on cracking open those glowing chests. If you’re taken out by an enemy, we’d recommend exiting to the lobby and trying again. Keep at it and you’ll get there eventually. This is another one of those tasks you can easily tick off over a handful of matches.

Use a Port-a-Fort

Again, there’s not an awful lot to say about this Week 1 Challenge. Simply play the game as you normally would, but keep an eye out for any Port-a-Forts. If you manage to get hold of one, simply use it and you’ll complete this challenge!

Search F-O-R-T-N-I-T-E Letters

This one’s extremely tricky and requires you to search for individual letters that spell out the word “Fortnite” across the entirety of the map. Without any help it’s an arduous process and one that would’ve required a heap of luck to complete off your own back.

Thankfully, YouTuber nittq has produced an incredibly useful video which showcases all of the letter locations without any messing around whatsoever.

Follow the treasure map found in Tomato Town

Another tough challenge this week requires you to hunt down a treasure map in Tomato Town before heading over to an elusive location to dig up some Battle Stars.

YouTuber pickapixel has got us all covered this week, and his very useful video provides us with a glance at the treasure map itself, before showcasing a nice jaunt over to the exact location where you’ll find the hidden Battle Stars. Check it out below.

Pistol Eliminations

This challenge is straight to the point, and it wants you to get a total of three Pistol eliminations. With this in mind, your quickest route to completing it would be to seek out Pistols at every possible opportunity.

We’d recommend the Suppressed Pistol thanks to its insane fire rate, or the Hand Cannon for its devastating fire power.

If you’re really struggling to get this challenge done, you could try queueing up with friends. Whenever you reduce someone's health to zero with your teammates in tow, they'll more often than not enter a down-but-not-out state.

If one of you manages to down an enemy, you can "share" the kill and finish them off with a Pistol shot or two. This keeps things nice and simple, while also avoiding the hassle of using your Pistol as a primary weapon.

Eliminate Opponents in Flush Factory

For this one, your best bet is to land in Flush Factory as soon as the match starts, searching for a weapon and getting on the offensive right away. Do this a number of times over the course of a few matches and it won’t be long before this challenge is complete!
