In the same vein as previous Battle Passes, Season 9 contains 100 tiers filled with brand new cosmetic items, progressive outfits and the like. If you’re coming into the game fresh, it can be a tricky system to get your head around. It’s tied to some pretty fundamental aspects of character progression, like experience points, Battle Stars and weekly challenges.

Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass: What’s included?
As with previous iterations of the Battle Pass, Fortnite’s Season 9 Battle Pass features 100 tiers of unlocks. Essentially, go about playing the game and you’ll start earning EXP and levelling up your Battle Pass. In turn, you’ll reach new tiers and unlock whatever’s hiding behind them.
You’ll earn new outfits, emotes, pickaxes, pets and other bits and bobs to make your character stand out from the crowd.
Purchase the Battle Pass and you’ll unlock access to premium weekly challenges which will also help you rank up your Battle Pass further.

How much does it cost?
Season 9’s Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks, which equates to around £8/$10 in real world currency.

How to level up your Season 9 Battle Pass
Below we’ve put together a quick rundown on how you’ll go about levelling up your Battle Pass during Season 9.
- Play matches and complete weekly challenges to earn Experience Points.
- The EXP you earn will level you up, and in turn, you’ll earn Battle Stars.
- Battle Stars are the currency you’ll need to accrue in order to level up your Battle Pass.
- The more Battle Stars you earn, the more you’ll level up your Battle Pass and unlock cosmetic items.
How to earn EXP and level up fast
There are a number of different ways you can earn EXP in Fortnite, but for the most part you’ll just need to grind out as many games as possible. If you’re looking to squeeze out as much EXP from each match as possible, here are a few ways you can do so.
- Survive for as long as possible.
- Secure as many kills as possible.
- Play with friends who also own the Season 9 Battle Pass for the EXP bonus.
- Win as many matches as you possibly can.
- Reach certain milestones in the Battle Pass and you’ll receive an EXP bonus modifier. Make use of these by, well, playing the game even more!
