Our Fortnite: Battle Royale Grenade guide contains tips for using the Boogie Bomb, Smoke Grenade and Common Grenade.

You are no doubt already intimately familiar with the delicious collection of weapons that are available in Fortnite: Battle Royale, but you're unlikely to win the long game just sneaking around and shooting people in the face.

To accompany your firepower, you're also going to want to lay your hands on a few other items that will increase your chances of winning the game outright...or at least making the final ten, shall we say. Top of the list for helping you cause a little extra mayhem in combat are the game's collection of grenades.

In this article, we've outlined every grenade that's available in Fortnite: Battle Royale (currently three in total), with a little bit of extra insight on what each one does, and why you might want to go rummaging around for it.

As and when new grenades are added to the game, we'll update this article. For now, you should be able to find everything you need to know about these explosive items right here.

Boogie Bomb Tips

The Boogie Bomb is an explosive weapon in Battle Royale which you lob into battle just like a regular grenade. Unlike your average grenade, however, those caught up in its blast radius won't be obliterated, but will instead start dancing on the spot for five seconds, or until they take damage.

Note that players are incapable of doing anything while under the influence of this dancefloor bomb. They can't fight other players, they can't build anything, and they can't even use any items to heal up - nothing until they've taken a bit of damage or the effect has worn off.

Because the Boogie Bomb can leave players so exposed, it's an item of some controversy in Fortnite: Battle Royale, with many players considering it flat-out overpowered. We'll have to wait and see whether or not Epic Games agree and tone its impact down a little in a future update.

Smoke Grenade Tips

You throw the Smoke Grenade just as you would with any other grenade. As the name suggests, however, it doesn't really do damage and instead exists to obscure the immediate vicinity of the map. Expect a big puff of smoke when this one goes off.

This smoke then both confuses and distracts the enemy, while also providing some small amount of cover for you to reach a preferential position. It's really important that you get your aim down here, so you don't waste the opportunity to create a bit of escape space for yourself.

Common Grenade Tips

The Common Grenade is your bog-standard explosive bomb that you fling at a target and which then detonates a short period of time later.

Here's an important tip to keep in mind though. These grenades also fuel the Rocket Launcher, and so you're highly encouraged to keep scavenging to top up on this precious ammo.

If you come across a meaty launcher later on towards the end-game, you'll be especially glad you packed enough ammo to bring down even the toughest of opponents - or their soon-to-be battered shelters - sorry about that!

That's the first edition of our Fortnite: Battle Royale Grenade guide wrapped up. If more of these explosive items are added to the game we'll be sure to include them in here. We'd also love you to share your own tips and tricks for making the most of them in the comments.
