Our Fortnite: Season 8 release date page also contains start times for the PT, ET, GMT and CET timezones.

Season 8 of Fortnite is just a matter of days away at this point, and we know from the collection of teaser tweets put out by Epic that the next season of competitive play is likely to have a distinctly pirate-y flavour.

The imminent start of Season 8 means you really need to get beavering away on any Season 7 Challenges that you might still have outstanding. The current season will likely wrap up a couple of days before Season 8 begins as well, so don't hang about.

In this article, we've pulled together everything you need to know about the start of Season 8, with details of the release date, and start times for GMT, CET, EDT and PDT. If you want to learn more about what's in store for the game, take a look at our comprehensive Fortnite Season 8 guide.

What's the release date for Season 8 of Fortnite?

Season 8 of Fortnite begins on Thursday, 28th February 2019. This is a little later than usual, but Epic has been keeping the game fresh with a couple of events over the last few weeks.

What's the start time for Season 8 of Fortnite?

Although Epic Games hasn't publicly declared an official start time for Season 8 of Fortnite, we can look to previous season launches and patch times to come up with a pretty good idea of what to expect.

As a general rule of thumb, patches for Fornite tend to go live at the following times:

  • US (East Coast) - 04:00am ET
  • US (West Coast) - 01:00am PDT
  • UK - 09:00am GMT
  • Mainland Europe - 10:00am CET

Note that it takes a little while for a new patch to actually be deployed onto the live servers. For that reason, you should expect 2-3 hours of downtime before the game comes back to life once again.
