Yesterday evening, Bungie revealed the Destiny 2 PC beta dates and confirmed what system you’ll need to run the game smoothly on its official blog.

Firstly, here’s when the Destiny 2 PC beta begins and ends.

  • Pre-order Early Access - 28th August 2017
  • Open Beta - 29th August 2017
  • Beta Ends - 31st August 2017

Below you’ll find all of the PC specifications needed to play Destiny 2, with “Recommended Spec” providing optimal game performance, and “Minimum Spec” offering enough to play the game on lowered settings.

Current Gen Hardware

If you’re upgrading, or your PC hardware’s already bang up to date, here’s what’ll run Destiny 2:

Recommended Spec

  • CPU - Intel Core i5-7400
  • GPU - Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

Minimum Spec

  • CPU - Intel Pentium G4560
  • GPU - Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 2GB

Last Gen Hardware

If you’re running a PC that contains components which are a little bit older, here’s what you’ll need.

Recommended Spec

  • Intel - Core i5-2400
  • AMD - Ryzen R5 1600X

  • Nvidia - GeForce GTX 970
  • AMD - Radeon R9 390

  • 8GB

Minimum Spec

  • Intel - Core i3-3250
  • AMD - FX-4350

  • Nvidia - GeForce GTX 660 2GB
  • AMD - Radeon HD 7850 2GB

  • 6GB

Bungie do emphasise that these system requirements could change before Destiny 2 launches on 24th October 2017. Although in our opinion, these specs (especially recommended) will offer more than enough performance for any future titles, so upgrading now won't put you at risk of building a machine that's not powerful enough to run the game - very much the oppposite!

More news is on the way for PC players prior to the beta, and we'll be sure to cover it in detail when the time comes - stay tuned!
