Our Destiny 2: Unexpected Guests walkthrough guide explains how to pursue the Taken, collapse the portals and defeat Iraz, Eye of Savathun.

Ikora’s worried about some Taken emanations from beneath the moon’s surface and she wants you to check this strange occurrence out. Essentially, this means you’ll be chasing down some dangerous enemies and fighting against whatever you’ll find lurking underneath Io.

This Adventure chooses to keep it simple and it doesn’t involve too many objectives - just a lot of fighting.

Thankfully we’re here to help you survive each encounter with a handy walkthrough guide that’ll steer you in the right direction and provide some strategy advice for the toughest moments.

Confirm Ikora’s Intel, Secure the Area and Pursue the Taken

One you’ve started this Adventure off, simply follow the marker on your map over to Terrabase Charon. It’s here where you’ll have to secure the area - aka, shoot all the Taken forces.

Move around the area and clear all the Taken trash that’ll be phasing in. Eventually you’ll be prompted to pursue the Taken so follow the marker on your map down into the base itself.

You’ll be led into the Wraith Mines where a bunch of Taken will be awaiting your arrival. Move over to them and they’ll flee - follow them.

Collapse the portals and defeat Iraz, Eye of Savathun

Portal 1

Once you’ve followed the Taken into their cavern they’ll be kneeling down and prostrating to a large Taken portal. It’s at this point you’ll want to open fire and begin clearing out the area. We suggest chucking a grenade into the center of the pack and whipping out a submachine gun to mow them all down.

When you’re done, pick up the Arc charge and sprint over to the marker on your HUD before depositing it in the receptacle.

Portal 2

As soon as you’ve deployed the first Arc charge a number of Taken enemies will spawn around you. It’s worth meleeing those next to you before finding some breathing room to take them all out.

Move towards the marker and get rid of the Taken on your way there, being careful to keep your distance and use grenades as often as possible. Eventually you’ll come to the next site, so before jumping down into the cavern, sit back and take out your enemies from a distance.

Don’t be afraid to use your Power weapon and make sure you’re constantly aiming for the head to drop them all much faster.

Pick up the Arc charge and melee your way through the Taken enemies to get to the next receptacle.

Portal 3

Head towards the marker on your map, shoot through the Taken barriers and adopt the same strategy: sit back, shoot the Taken from a distance, use grenades liberally and don’t forget your power weapon.

If you do have to get up close and personal, melee hits and particularly potent against the smaller Taken forces.

Finally you’ll come to the last site. Use the cover to your right and begin destroying the enemies in the area. Grab the charge and sprint over to the marker, ignoring or hitting the enemies depending on how much health you’ve got.

Drop down, deploy the charge and a final boss, Iraz, Eye of Savathun will appear!

It’s at this point you’ll want to pop your Super and lay waste to Iraz’s health bar. If you’ve not got a Super at this stage, use a close range power weapon to finish it off quickly.

Once Iraz is down, that’s this Adventure complete!
