Our Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes Orb Farming guide contains the best ways to solo farm Arc, Solar and Void Solstice Orbs to help level up your armour to 400 Power fast.
Bungie has released the Solstice of Heroes event which celebrates the return of the Traveler in Destiny 2’s campaign and gives players all new in-game activities to participate in, and goodies to earn.
Talk to Ikora Rey and she’ll now hand you revamped story missions. World content, Strikes and even PVP have been tweaked too. Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the event is the ability to level up an armour set to 400 Power. Why? This is your only chance to achieve 400 Power before Destiny 2’s huge Forsaken expansion releases on 4th September.
Part of the armour upgrade process is collecting various elemental orbs, but it can be tricky getting hold of them in large quantities. Below we’ve put together a guide that’ll take you through the best ways to solo farm Solstice Orbs so you can level up your armour fast before the expansion launch.
How to get 400 Power Solstice Armour
Get your armour
Log into Destiny 2 right now and visit the vendor at the brand new Solstice of Heroes statue. Interact with them and you’ll automatically receive a set of Scorched armour with a Power Level of 240.
This armour can then be upgraded 3 more times, here are all the tiers:
- Masterwork Resplendent
Make sure you equip all of this Solstice Armour right away as this’ll enable you to receive specific rewards to level it up.
Armour specific missions
Each piece of Solstice Armour can be levelled up: Helm, Gauntlets, Chest, Greaves and Cloak.
They each have specific missions you’ll need to complete in order to do so. This varies somewhat between classes, so Titans might have slightly different tasks to Hunters.
The template always remains the same though. You’ll be tasked with completing a Redux Story Missions, Collecting X amount of orbs, and ticking off objectives in certain activities.
Fastest way to collect Solstice orbs
There are a number of different orb related missions that you’ll need tick off to level up specific pieces of Solstice Armour. You may need to collect orbs specifically from Strikes or within a specific area on the map. Below we’ve put together the best methods for each orb mission type, using xHOUNDISHx’s video which we've linked as our main source of strategy advice.
Do remember that in order to collect orbs of a certain element, you’ll need to equip all of the armour and select the corresponding subclass. For example, Titan Strikers generate Arc orbs, while Warlock Voidwalkers will generate Void orbs.
Collect 150 Orbs (Arc, Solar, Void)
For this task, you’ll generate orbs no matter what activity you’re in. However, the fastest way is to use the engine room in the Underbelly of the Leviathan Raid.
Each enemy is guaranteed to grant you handful of orbs and you can clear the room quickly with a Shotgun, Grenades and Supers. Once you’re done, exit via one of the doors, wait until it closes completely, then re-enter. All of the enemies will have magically respawned and you can rinse and repeat this method!
To get to the engine room, spawn into the Leviathan Raid, drop down to lower levels and wander into the room ahead. You'll be met with a number of levers which need to be pulled quickly in this specific order: 1, 5, 3, 2, 4, 6.
Do this successfully and a message will flash up saying "The route is open". We've posted another video below by Gladd which'll show you how to get to the engine room easily.
Collect 90 Orbs on Earth (Arc, Solar, Void)
There’s no better way to go about this, other than completing missions or defeating the Heroic Public Events too.
Opposite the church in the EDZ, there’s a particular area Devrim Kay’s looking out onto that’s constantly spawning in enemies (you’ll know it when you see it). Clear this out if you want a nice injection of orbs too.
Collect 90 Orbs in Strikes (Arc, Solar, Void)
Get a fireteam together if possible, run the same subclass archetype and run normal level Strikes over and over again. You’ll generate more of the same elemental orb so it'll be easier to gather the type of orb you're after!
