About Ed Thorn

Ed's a huge fan of rushing B in CS:GO and grinding it out in Destiny 2. He will not rest until a new Wario Land is announced.

Our Destiny 2: Rice Cakes guide explains how to get rice cakes to feed the Jade Rabbit Statues.

Dotted around the Moon in Destiny 2 are ten Jade Rabbit Statues. These elusive creatures can be found in unsuspecting hiding spots, but it’s actually interacting with them that’s the most confusing aspect of their existence.

Turn up without a rice cake in hand and you’ll simply stare at the Jade Rabbit’s face before walking off empty handed. However, offer it a little rice cake and it’ll grant you a rather nice reward.

Getting hold of these rice cakes isn’t explicitly outlined, and it can be difficult to know how to find plenty of these crispy goodies. To help you out, we’ve put together a guide outlining all the ways of doing so, just below.

How to get rice cakes in Destiny 2

Open Chests

Around the Moon you’ll find chests containing Glimmer and some planetary materials (Helium Coils). Crack these open and there’s a chance you’ll obtain a Small Rice Cake.

Patrols

Speak to Nightmare Guardians or Toland on the Moon and they’ll send you on Patrols. These are mini missions which will have you collecting materials by defeating enemies, capturing an area on the map and other simple activities. Upon completion you’ll usually earn planetary materials and some Glimmer. However, there’s a chance you might receive a Small Rice Cake too.

Planetary Materials

The Moon’s planetary material are Helium Coils. These look like large vials of glowing yellow liquid, and they can often be found strewn on the floor while out exploring. Looting them will grant you a very slim chance of receiving a Small Rice Cake.

High Value Targets

Occasionally High Value Targets may spawn on the Moon. These are powerful yellow bar enemies who’ll take a bit more effort to take down than your standard grunt. Manage to fell them and a chest will spawn. Crack it open and there’s a chance a Small Rice Cake could find its way into your inventory.

Public Events

Public Events are small instances where players can band together to complete an objective. The Moon’s home to quite a number of these activities, so make sure you take them on to increase your chances of earning Small Rice Cakes.
