Our Destiny 2 Gambit Prime Armor page details all the Season of the Drifter Gambit Armor and its bonuses, including the Reaper, Sentry, Collector and Invader sets. We will update this page with all the ways to obtain each armor set once the expansion has gone live.

Destiny 2’s upcoming DLC, Season of the Drifter, is introducing an upgraded version of the traditional Gambit PVE/PVP mode called Gambit Prime. It promises to be a little more competitive and Bungie’s tinkered with its inner workings to make it as exciting and grindable as possible.

As ever, it wouldn’t be a new expansion without sweet new loot to obtain. Gambit Prime offers four new armor sets to get hold of, each conferring gambit-specific benefits and looking very snazzy indeed.

Below we’ll take you through everything we know so far about the Gambit Prime armor and their specific perks. Once we’ve got more information on how you’ll go about obtaining each piece, we’ll update this hub right away - keep this page bookmarked for all the latest!

How do I get Gambit Prime Armor?

To kickstart your armor hunt, you'll need to talk to the Drifter and get stuck into Gambit Prime. Once you've completed your first match, head back to him and he'll give you a Weak Synthesizer item which is what you'll be using to grab your gear.

Next, you'll want to play Gambit Prime and complete Gambit Prime bounties to earn unique consumables called Synths. These look like the traditional green Gambit token, but come in a variety of colours and are named after each set of Gambit Prime armour.

For example, you've got the "Collector Synth" for the Collector Gambit Prime Armour, the "Invader Synth" for the Invader Gambit Prime armour and so on.

Once you've got hold of some Synths, you'll need to head into your inventory, interact with the Weak Synthesizer and insert one of them into it. This will drop a special mote in your inventory.

Next, you'll want to head into The Reckoning, drop the mote into the bank and do your utmost to survive the onslaught. If you succeed, you'll be rewarded with an armor piece corresponding to the Synth you used.

So, this is the gameplay loop you'll want to grind out if you want a full set of gear:

  • Obtain Synths from Gambit/Gambit Prime Bounties. You can also earn them sometimes in The Reckoning.
  • Place chosen Synth into Weak Synthesizer to get mote.
  • Jump into Reckoning, use mote.
  • Complete Reckoning, claim gear reward.
  • Rinse and repeat.
