Sky Sports has announced a partnership with FACEIT to broadcast the CS:GO Major from September 20th-23rd. These final matches will mark the culmination of the Challengers Stage, and will see the world's best teams competing for a share of $1 million in prize money.
The finals will be broadcast on Sky Sports' YouTube and Facebook channels, with a broadcast of the finals' best plays to be shown on Sky Two at 11pm on the night of the 23rd.
As well as broadcasting the event itself, Sky Sports will also provide additional content surrounding the tournament, including a one-hour documentary following the path to the Major.
According to a press release issued by Sky, the recent Challengers Stage has enjoyed a peak of 500,000 concurrent viewers on YouTube and Twitch, with more than 20 million hours viewed in total. The tournament itself is the largest esports event to take place in the UK to date.
The FACEIT CS:GO Major tournament is one of the most prestigious on the game's calendar of competitive events. Beginning with an open qualifiers stage that took place across May and June, the teams have now been whittled down to the final few competing for the $500,000 winner's prize.
