About Ed Thorn

Ed's a huge fan of rushing B in CS:GO and grinding it out in Destiny 2. He will not rest until a new Wario Land is announced.

According to a report by Jarek “DeKay” Lewis, Natus Vincere may be looking to replace their CS:GO team’s in-game leader Danylo “Zeus" Teslenko.

Despite Natus Vincere making it through to the playoffs of the StarLadder Berlin Major beginning on 6th September, this seemingly hasn’t prevented the organisation from considering a replacement.

If the rumour rings true, the upcoming BLAST Pro Series Moscow 2019 tournament could be Zeus’s final competition with Natus Vincere. In an interview with HLTV.org last year, Zeus seemingly confirmed that he’d consider retiring sometime in 2019. He describes a Major tournament win as one of his key priorities, which suggests that his career hinges on NaVi’s success - or failure - at the ongoing StarLadder Berlin Major.

Zeus has a storied, and incredibly successful history with NaVi. He’s one of the founding members of the organisation, and during his first seven years with the team, they were widely considered one of the best squads in the world, winning four Majors and numerous premier competitions too.

After a dip in NaVi’s performances, Zeus joined Gambit and helped lead the team to the CIS-region’s first Major victory ever at the PGL Major Krawow in 2017. He’s now back on NaVi, but it’s safe to say their level of play has been a little rocky recently.

For now, we’ll have to wait and see what move Zeus makes, and whether NaVi is even looking to replace their in-game leader. As soon as we’ve got more info, we’ll update the site with all the latest.

(Thanks dotesports for the heads-up.)
