Ed will not rest until a new Wario Land is announced.

The North American side has announced Rene “cajunb” Borg as its newest addition to the roster.

The news was confirmed on its social media channels and comes soon after the organisation parted ways with Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey.

Cajunb had last spent a year with OpTic Gaming but enjoyed limited success, failing to secure any big titles during his stint with the all Danish side. By no means does this mean he’s a lackluster pickup, though. He’s a veteran of the CS scene, having established himself as a very strong player towards the end of CS:Source, before playing for the likes of North and Astralis - the latter, currently considered the best in the world - in CS:GO.

Here’s what cajun had to say about his move to Cloud9:

”When you join an organization like Cloud9 there will always be a lot of pressure and expectations. I will do my best together with my teammates to make sure we succeed and make the fans proud.”

Arguably Cloud9’s greatest moment was emerging victorious at the Boston Major 2018 but once the confetti settled, many of its superstars departed the organisation. Ever since then, it’s struggled to recapture the same magic and construct a solid lineup capable of bringing home the Majors.

Every roster shakeup takes time to settle so we may not see immediate results, but cajunb’s experience may prove an invaluable resource for Cloud9 to draw upon when playing on the big stage. For now, it remains to be seen.

With cajunb joining its ranks, Cloud9’s roster now looks like this:

  • Timothy "autimatic" Ta
  • William "RUSH" Wierzba
  • Maikil "Golden" Selim
  • René "cajunb" Borg
  • Daniel "vice" Kim

Cloud9’s new roster will debut at the upcoming BLAST Pro Series Miami, which takes place between April 12-13th. For an overview of the event, our BLAST Pro Series Miami guide has you covered.
