Astralis has taken down Team Liquid to lift the Blast Pro Series Sao Paulo crown, pocketing $125,000 in prize money in the process, and continuing their dominance on the world stage.
Team Liquid started off the best of three series with an inspired win on Dust2, edging out Astralis on a map considered to be their strongest.
The next two maps were a completely different story, however. Liquid were completely overwhelmed on both Inferno and Overpass, with the Danes simply running away with the title by the end of the day’s action.
The manner in which Astralis dismissed Team Liquid in Sao Paulo shows just how much of a gap there is between the top two teams in the world right now.
Liquid’s impressive showing on Dust2 proves that they’re capable of upsetting the Danes, but they weren't able to maintain the same high level of play required to take home the trophy.
It’s also clear that Astralis have one or two extra gears in comparison to every team on the circuit right now. Even though they dropped the first map, they came back even stronger on the other two and swept Liquid aside without breaking a sweat.
Right now, no one comes close to toppling Astralis as we move closer to the next Major.
