Looks like there's a missile heading towards Warzone's Stadium

And it won't be long before it hits.

About Ed Thorn

Ed will not rest until a new Wario Land is announced.

There might be a missile cutting through the skies of Verdansk, and it looks like it’s headed straight for Stadium.

Redditor DavidWurgy noticed a white streak in the clouds which is barely perceptible unless you really zoom in. Glance at their post, scroll to the right and you’ll notice the warhead flying into the center of their crosshair. Ominous.

How do we know it’s not an RPG shot or a JOKR rocket? Well, DavidWurgy double checked and travelled all over the map to see if it moved at all. According to them “It was stagnant in the sky all round. Similar to Fortnite’s meteor.”

We had a look for it ourselves but struggled to spot it. Granted, we were being torn to shreds in Plunder at the same time so it wasn't the best environment to scour the skies.

Either way, this all lines up nicely with Season 5’s imminent release and all the teasers Infinity Ward recently sent over to Call of Duty influencers. From the looks of things, we’re practically guaranteed a big explosion to kick things off, a loot filled train trundling around the map, and Stadium finally opening up. Expect plenty more goodies too.

Since Warzone’s release Verdansk hasn’t changed much, if at all, so we’re excited to see some spruced up locations and additions. Stadium currently occupies a large portion of the map but doesn’t offer any new or interesting gameplay options. It’s simply a big plate which harbours campers and forces you to run around it in circles. A wasted opportunity that may spring to life soon, though - only needed a nuclear explosion to give it some life eh?

Fortnite’s live events are worth a quick mention here too. Call of Duty’s never been one for in-game events where players can virtually get together and watch something unfold in real time. We’re skeptical, but maybe there’s a chance we’ll be able to witness the missile (or multiple?) alter the map in-game as a squad.

We’re extremely excited for Season 5 here at Metabomb and if you’re interested, we’ve whipped together a feature on what we’d like to see change with the new update.
