The Fennec is the fastest firing SMG in the entire game and able to shred opponents with ease. In this guide we’ll explain how to unlock it for use in Warzone and Modern Warfare.
Introduced in Season 4, the Fennec has an absolutely outrageous fire rate. Hold down the trigger and you’ll splurge your ammo in seconds, but land all of your shots and your enemies will drop even faster.
Now that Season 4 is over, you’ll need to unlock this weapon by completing a specific challenge. In this guide we’ll give you some tips on how to complete it as fast as possible.
How to unlock the Fennec for Warzone and Modern Warfare
To unlock the Fennec for use in Warzone, you’ll need to get 5 kills while using an SMG with the Solozero Optics Mini Reflex and Ranger Foregrip in 10 different matches.
As you’d expect, this challenge is far, far easier if you own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and its multiplayer modes. It’s achievable in Warzone, but incredibly difficult.
With this in mind, we’d highly recommend picking up Modern Warfare if you haven’t already. Not only will you be able to unlock the Fennec, but many other weapons, attachments, skins, and more.
So, how do you unlock the Fennec?
Kit out your SMG. First up, make sure you’ve equipped an SMG with the Solozero Optics Mini Reflex and Ranger Foregrip. You can take your pick from most submachine guns, but we’d recommend using something like the MP5, MP7, or Uzi for versatility’s sake. Unfortunately you’ll need to level your SMGs to unlock these attachments in the first place, so bear this in mind.
Add some extra attachments. Once you’ve slapped your optics and your foregrip on, don’t be afraid to add more. You’ll still work towards this challenge with more attachments than strictly necessary, so throw some extended mags in there, perhaps a Fully Loaded perk for extra ammo, or even a longer barrel for greater accuracy. Anything to up your chances!
Pick the right playlist. This is all pretty luck based as it’s up to Infinity Ward. If you spot a ‘Shoot the Ship 24/7’ or ‘Shipment 24/7’ playlist, definitely get stuck in. The closer the quarters, the better the chances you have of completing this challenge fast. That’s not to say other playlists aren’t worth jumping into, though.
Don’t be afraid to back out. While we don’t actively encourage backing out of a match, doing so when going for a challenge is acceptable in our books. Make sure you’re checking challenge completion as you eliminate enemies, then back out once you’ve secured your precious point. Quitting doesn’t erase progress, which should make this painful process much faster.
