Call of Duty: Warzone - Best FAL Loadout

Ever since Warzone’s Reloaded Season 4 update, the FAL has suddenly become a viable option both at long and close ranges - particularly close. This is thanks to its absurdly high damage numbers at short range with two tap kill potential if you hit those headshots.

Here’s how to kit it out for both long and short ranges.

Best FAL Loadout in Warzone

Just be warned, you’ll need to grit your teeth and level this thing up - a lot. We found Shipment 24/7 was the ultimate playlist for this. Keep at it and try get the FAL to at least level 50 if possible.

Short Range

Short range?! No, we’re not kidding. This thing shreds at close range if you’ve got the right setup and the aim to back it up. Equip it as a secondary using the Overkill perk or grab a second loadout drop if needs be, then swap to it when you need to storm a building or anticipate a close range encounter.

Here’s our favourite loadout at close range:

• Barrel - XRM Marksman
• Optic - Viper Reflex Sight (drop this for Tac Laser if you're comfortable with iron sight)
• Underbarrel - Merc Foregrip
• Ammunition - 30 Round Mags
• Muzzle - Monolithic Suppressor

There’s some leeway here. If you want to keep your shots quiet, a Monolithic Suppressor or Tactical Suppressor can replace the Barrel. The Merc Foregrip and Tac Laser will help with recoil control, while the latter will offset the foregrip's hit to your ADS speed. The optic is entirely personal preference but you’ll be better off with something that’s quick and snappy, so we’d recommend going for a reflex of some sort.

30 Round Mags will stop you from reloading midway through a gunfight and the XRM Marksman gives you the best combination of stats. More range, better recoil control, just general goodness.

We’ve chosen this mixture of attachments as it’s optimised for aiming in quickly, has some element of hip fire accuracy and recoil control.

Long Range

At long range the FAL can still dish out big damage numbers, but it’s much tougher to secure the down in Warzone. Enemies often have plenty of armour and if you miss a shot they’ll likely duck behind cover before you’re able to finish off the job.

However, if you’re accurate and have teammates backing you up the FAL can be deadly. We’ve found success if you position yourself on an enemy’s flank while your teammates pepper them from another angle. This’ll give you more opportunities to crack armour and catch them off guard as they attempt to reposition or run.

• Muzzle - Monolithic Suppressor
• Barrel - XRM Marksman
• Optic - VLK 3.0
• Underbarrel - Merc Foregrip
• Ammunition - 30 Round Mags

The muzzle and barrel are absolutely essential here as they both contribute to greater range. The VLK optic is a nice balance of ADS speed and zoom distance, while the 30 round mags will give you plenty of bullets to prevent frequent reloading.

Secondary, Perks, Equipment

What about the rest of the build? Here’s what we like to run:

• Secondary weapon: For short range build, the M4A1 or Grau are great choices. For Long range build, the MP7, MP5, or even the likes of a CR56-AMAX will do the trick.
• Perk 1 - Cold Blooded or Double Time
• Perk 2 - Overkill or Ghost if you’re feeling brave
• Perk 3 - Amped
• Lethal - C4
• Tactical - Heartbeat Sensor or Stun Grenade

These are all pretty common in Warzone. We’ve chosen Overkill here as it gives you an all important secondary to fill the gap, but you’ll absolutely want to visit another Loadout Drop to grab Ghost for the late game. With this in mind, you can run Ghost and pick up a secondary along the way if you’d rather have it right off the bat.

The equipment, C4 and Heartbeat Sensor, are a classic Warzone combo. C4 is a one-shot for almost every vehicle in the game, whilst the Heartbeat Sensor gives you extremely valuable intel on all enemies without Ghost. It's won us no small number of gunfights.

We’ve popped the Stun Grenade in here as another option as it’s brilliant for pushing enemies if you know they’re vulnerable.
