Best AUG loadout and class setup in Warzone

The best AUG loadout and attachments.

What is the best loadout for the AUG Rifle? We have the answers. The AUG Tactical Rifle lets you fire in a 3-round burst, dealing huge damage and 2-bursting foes. With the gun’s buff it now has a bullet velocity rivalling that of assault rifles and the M16. This means the AUG meta is well and truly here, and to go along with it, here’s our best AUG loadouts in Warzone Pacific.

Best AUG loadout in Warzone

If you hit all your shots with the AUG, it is a seriously strong weapon. Shredding all your enemy’s armour in one burst and finishing them in a second is super powerful, and often won’t leave the enemy with enough time to do anything about it, especially if you end up hitting headshots with the burst recoil. You can get your bursts off even faster with the AUG than with the M16 too, thanks to the shorter burst delay with the weapon. Here’s a couple powerful loadouts I’ve been enjoying with the AUG in Warzone.

Best mid- to long-range AUG loadout in Warzone

For me, this is the single best AUG loadout in Warzone. It’s got that sweet suppressor, great range values, and brutal damage if you hit your shots. I put on some attachments to better the gun’s recoil properties too, since as a burst weapon you’ll want to be hitting all 3 shots before moving on.

  • Muzzle: Agency Silencer (Level 46)
  • Barrel: 18.2” Strike Team (Level 21)
  • Optic: Royal & Kross 4x (Level 22)
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip (Level 41)
  • Ammunition: 45 Rnd Drum (Level 8)

The Agency Silencer is an easy pick. Increased damage range, bullet velocity, and sound suppression? Sign me up. It’s pretty much vital for Warzone success, otherwise enemies from half a mile away will see you on the minimap whenever you fire. You’ll need to grind to level 46, but it’s worth it.

Damage range on this gun doesn’t drop off, so with regards to barrels, we’re looking at which ones increase your bullet velocity. Well, it turns out that the 18.2” Strike Team barrel does this, as well as boosting your fire rate, according to XclusiveAce. It doesn’t say on the pros and cons, but it does, so just put this barrel on.

I like the Royal & Kross 4x optic, but any scope that feels good for you to use will work nicely here. Something to keep in mind is that it’s important to use an optic attachment, because the AUG’s default scope is hit with scope glint, meaning enemy players can see you from a mile away if you’re aiming at them.

Underbarrel-wise, you should be picking something to reduce your recoil so you don’t lose out on longer-range engagements. With this build of the AUG you should be using it as your mid- to long-range gun, so being able to hit targets from far away is super important. For that reason, the Field Agent Foregrip is the choice here. It makes your bullet spread nice and tight, ensuring you have a solid reliability when you’re aiming a long way away. It’ll make you slightly less mobile, but for this loadout that shouldn’t be a problem.

Boosting your ammo capacity is really important in squad-based modes, so chuck on the 45 Rnd Drum if you’re worried about ammo capacity. If you don’t care about that, then chuck on a stock to boost mobility, like the Marathon Stock or SAS Combat Stock. This can give you the upper hand in midrange fights, but is the least important attachment on this loadout, so it’s up to you.

Best close-range AUG loadout in Warzone

Want to use your AUG more like an SMG? Well, here’s a nice little loadout for you, prioritising maneuverability over range and helping you two-burst enemies by exploiting this gun’s recoil patterns. Here’s what you should be using with this gun in closer-quarters:

  • Muzzle: Agency Silencer (Level 46)
  • Barrel: 17.9” Cavalry Lancer (Level 13)
  • Optic: Hawksmoor (Level 32)
  • Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip (Level 33)
  • Stock: SAS Combat Stock (Level 8)

The silencer is still vital, because without it you’ll be all over people’s radars. I’ve picked out a shorter-range optic too, but again that’s down to pure personal preference. The rest of these attachments I’ve picked to improve your mobility and speed in close-quarters.

The 17.9” Cavalry Lancer barrel gives you a slight mobility boost at the cost of accuracy, but if you’re using this close-range that won’t be an issue. The strafe speed is a great addition, and you even get a bonus to your bullet velocity, meaning in a pinch you can target enemies a bit of a distance away.

The Bruiser Grip is the go-to for faster movement speed, and it also boosts your hip-fire accuracy if you get jumped by an enemy around a corner or something. That extra speed is sweet as hell though.

The SAS Combat Stock is a fantastic attachment for close-range fighting. It massively beefs up your strafing speed, allowing you to dodge bullets like you’re Neo or something. You should be getting enough time to take down enemies while zooming around.

Secondary weapon

With the longer-range build and Overkill, an SMG like the MAC 10, or LC10 works great. With the SMG-style loadout, I like pairing it with an HDR or an SP-R 208, as it uses a different ammo type and lets you pick off foes at a longer range.

If you already have the guns you want, pick Ghost. A pistol like the Diamatti or even a launcher like the JOKR can work well here, but realistically you’ll probably be dumping your secondary regardless.

Best AUG loadout with Perks and Equipment

The best Perks and Equipment are super important for running an AUG successfully. It’s fairly simple though, and I’m here to help you out - here’s the best rest of your loadout:

  • Perk 1: EOD
  • Perk 2: Overkill/Ghost
  • Perk 3: Amped
  • Lethal: C4
  • Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor

EOD has saved my day from being ruined by weirdos shooting me with RPGs from miles off countless times. It’s exhausting. With EOD you’ll have more time to armour up and teach those chumps a lesson. I’ve gone over Overkill and Ghost - use the former to get your best weapons, and the latter once you’re happy with your guns. Amped is perfect for quickly swapping back and forth between your guns, and is viable in both loadouts.

The same is true with your equipment. C4 is my favourite lethal because it can save your skin when a vehicle is charging you down. You can also use it in a pinch to chuck it over rocks or around corners when you know you can get a bit of damage - your enemy will be panicked and it’ll often give you the chance to gun them down. Finally, the Heartbeat Sensor is perfect for squad sessions where your enemies haven’t all Ghosted up yet. If a teammate already has a Heartbeat though, pick up some Stun Grenades, as they’re perfect for pushing enemies and disorients them for a surprisingly long period of time.

How to unlock the AUG in Warzone

If you’ve been playing Warzone a while, you probably already have the AUG unlocked. It’s part of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War weapon collection under Tactical Rifles (don’t accidentally pick the Modern Warfare SMG version!) and is unlocked at level 28. Whack out your double XP tokens to speed things up if you haven’t got it already.
