About James Law

James can usually be found wearing dungarees.

Every gun in Warzone has a ridiculous number of optics to choose from, but which is the best?

We've been playing a bunch of Warzone recently, and if you don't like the iron sights on a specific weapon, you'll want to use an attachment slot on an optic. Here's our picks for the best ones to use.

Best Optics in Call of Duty: Warzone

We've split this guide into weapon types so you can pick out the best ones in each situation.

Best Assault Rifle Optics

Assault Rifles are your all-purpose guns that'll serve you well in most situations in both Modern Warfare and Warzone. Here's our favourite sights to use with them:

  • VLK 3.0 Optic: The VLK 3.0 is a super clean sight with a decent level of zoom that still allows for maximium aim-assist on console. Also, according to a video by Xclusive Ace, it helps reduce recoil a small amount on some weapons. We love it for mid-range assault rifle gunfights, and it can be great for final circle engagements.
  • Viper Reflex Sight: If the 3.0x zoom is a bit much for your liking, the Viper Reflex is our absolute favourite when it comes to getting a clear picture of where your bullets will land. The green dot isn't for everyone, but the Viper is an absolute treat if you're into that.
  • Monocle Reflex Sight: This is similar to the Viper in use. Some prefer it thanks to its slightly smaller frame and red dot, so we'd recommend giving it a try - it's an incredibly clean scope that'll massively help your aim. Try it on an M4A1 or something.

Best Submachine Gun Optics

Submachine Guns should be used to challenge enemies at close ranges, so you should probably stick to shorter-range sights - bunging a giant Thermal onto your MP7 isn't going to help anyone. Here's what you should be doing instead:

  • G.I. Mini Reflex: This tiny thing gives you an extremely clear picture, letting you snap onto enemies with ease at close range. It's one of the smallest zoom sights on the market, but you shouldn't need to zoom that much anyway to land hits.
  • Operator Reflex Sight: One of the earliest optics you can unlock, the Operator Reflex Sight gives you a slightly wider obstruction but also a nice bit of zoom with a clear picture for tracking. Definitely whack it on if you're struggling to level up your gun early.
  • Monocle Reflex Sight: Honestly, it takes a while to unlock but this thing feels brilliant on an SMG. It's basically solid for all the same reasons it's good an an Assault Rifle - clean, low obstruction, and a comfortable level of zoom.

Best LMG Optics

We recommend using an optic on most of your LMG builds in Warzone. You're challenging enemies at much longer ranges and a lot of the time, your iron sights don't quite do the job. Here's what you should whack on to your LMGs to help you acquire your targets better:

  • VLK 3.0 Optic: The range coupled with whatever recoil-reducing attachments you've plugged in should help massively with mid- to long-range engagements in Warzone. Coupled with the slight recoil help this optic gives you, the VLK 3.0 is our favourite on LMGs.
  • Integral Hybrid: The Integral Hybrid optic lets you switch between a Scout scope with 3.25x magnification and a nice, clean reflex sight for closer range. This is perfect for a versatile build with your PKM or Bruen Mk9.
  • Viper Reflex Sight: Sometimes you don't fancy the ranged sights, and with a nicely kitted-out LMG, you don't need that magnification if you're accurate enough. That's where the Viper Reflex Sight comes in, and it feels brilliant on most weapons. Of course, the Monocle is similarly great for this task, so choose whichever one you prefer.
